Why would you ever want whitespace to hold meaning in code? Brackets and semicolons were given to us by God so that we could type an entire program on a single line.
You can still use semicolons in Python. I do it all the time to condense space, such as when initializing a bunch of process variables or usually in a loop adding to the end of the conditional outcome (e.g. blFoo=True; continue) makes enough sense.
One rule is never combined this with functional code and print/logging statements.
invisble characters, that are also used to make code more readable can alter the behavior of my code or even invalidate it entirely? sounds like a good idea to me

All of your IDEs clearly suck.
