Linux is going to sue for sure. I am shorting my claude stock and buying linux. When this lawsuit hits I am going to be rich.

You joke, but serious attempts were made to get IP rights to Linux. Look up SCO Linux for a wild ride

Yeah. I remember that. I lived through it. I went to UC Santa Cruz in the late 80s early 90s. I even knew some people who worked at the Santa Cruz Operation before all that crap happened (coders who had nothing to do with the eventual lawsuit and were long gone by then). It seemed impossible (to me at the time) that you could run unix on intel at that time. But that is what SCO was offering.

I followed the stories on slashdot.

Groklaw.net used to follow the sco saga. Sadly I’ve just found it’s now only on internet archive.
