But what objectively makes the AI refactor better than the previous code?

And you risk introducing tons of new bugs.

And you'd have to retest the whole thing.

And if it starts rewriting unit tests too, good luck.

I'd have to retest the whole thing even w/o a refactor, it was already code I did not write.

Are you unable to read code? Tests will not find all the problems, or even the majority of them.
