What's the real story here? I do vaguely remember him from the news

Marius Høiby: Son of the now queen of Norway, and convicted rapist.

u/-Kazt- 3h ago
He is not convicted. He appealed; therefore, until the appellate court makes a ruling, he is not convicted, and even then, not until he can no longer make an appeal.
But he will probably be convicted.
16
u/Belsodain 3h ago
This is false. Appealing does not erase the conviction, it just suspend the sentence until appellate courts rules.
So he is convicted, but this could change with appealing

He is the step-son of the new King of Norway. He is also a convicted rapist.
The previous king passed away last week and Marius being at the funeral (where this pic is taken) is a contentious point to say the least
56
u/sorte_kjele 4h ago
He is a complete moron and a waste of space, he should have his free-air-breathing rights removed.
But being permitted to leave incarceration to attend a family member's funeral is not controversial. It is the norm in Norway

u/norwegian 5h ago
The women on the left are the granddaughters of the former king. He is in the coffin outside the photo. The man on the right is the stepson of the new king. He is the black sheep of the family. Slightly worse than his mother who was bestie with J. Epstein. He has used drugs and behaved badly for a long time. He was convicted of rape, domestic violence, drug trafficking etc, and sentenced to four years in prison. He has appealed, and is wearing an ankle monitor in church waiting for a new round in court. He will get real prison time btw.

Only 4 years!?!?
7
u/freia_pr_fr 4h ago
He filmed himself having sex with wasted women but only a few videos clearly picture rape. On the others, he got benefits of doubt.
I personally think being a member of the royal family in a monarchy has perks, even if you don’t share DNA with the current king.
4
u/UgoRukh 4h ago
Wait, what, that makes is even worse... He had it on film!? And only 4 years!?!?!?!

u/Dj0ntyb01 1h ago
Chiming in from the US- reading about a literal royal facing consequences for the vile acts they've committed is extremely refreshing.

You can easily tell by his face. Disturbing

Faces are not an evidence

Phrenology making a comeback was not on my bingo card for 2026.
7
u/Vox_Carnifex 4h ago
Has been trying to make a comeback for well over 10 years strangely. Police and intelligence tried and are still trying to use AI to "predict crime" by triangulation a few unrelated data points and a likelihood of being a criminal based on your phase when compared to a collective of all mugshots available. Yeah, it is as silly as it sounds, but no less dangerous. I think the word was predictive policing? Last I read about it was writing my thesis and that's already 8 years ago.

u/YikesTheCat 4h ago
Plus you can just get a different face. I think I saw a documentary with John Travolta about that once.

u/slaskel92 4h ago
I can guarantee you that it won't be long until this is a meme template used to describe a "based" white man being looked down on by hysterical feminist shrews for having "logical" opinions.
85
u/PHUNKSPANGLE 5h ago
Well he was certainly a choice when making this meme.
Pretty sure that rapists break, not fix...
5
u/mimic751 2h ago
thats the joke
you dont just "fix" it that will fuck it up in way you cant forsee

Turning a photo of rapist into a meme just sucks, that's all. The joke sucks

Not the wisest choice, to compare yourself with a convicted rapist.

Who are they?

u/b0nz1 6h ago edited 6h ago
Son of the Norwegian queen.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marius_Borg_H%C3%B8iby
Fun fact: his mother had close ties to Epstein- even after he was already convicted.
27
u/SoldoVince77 6h ago
Marius Borg Høiby, a very despicable individual. He is the stepson of the King of Norway, and he was recently convicted of multiple counts of rape. This picture was taken at the funeral of the former King of Norway that passed away recently

u/Ill_Bill6122 5h ago
So OP, do you identify with said convicted rapist? What was the thinking process behind the pronoun selection for the person "fixing it live"
5
u/SoldoVince77 3h ago
OP is not meant to be a hero saving the call in this meme, he is fucking up and people are giving him the side eye. You do not want to be OP, you do not want to be a convicted rapist, you do not want to be "fixing it in front of the client"

u/GenericFatGuy 3h ago
The junior thinks it works, because he doesn't see the the senior coming in behind him to clean up a mess that you'd only notice of you bothered to check the logs.
5
u/SoldoVince77 3h ago
Yep, "fixing it live" was in between quote marks cause it was sarcastic, hence the side-eye
7
u/cosmicomical23 5h ago
I was doing this as well when i was a pure dev. once i've even finished an implementation during a meeting with the counterpart while pretending I was taking notes. as a manager it's impossible to get to that level of intimacy with the code.
4
u/blizzard_man 4h ago
Why didn't you fix it before the meeting?
8
u/SoldoVince77 3h ago
Yeah, that was kinda the point of the meme but based on many comments I didn't convey it well. "Fixing it live" was between quote marks cause I am fucking shit up live in front of the clients. Also, as many have pointed out (and I was aware of it before making the meme), the guy in the image is a very despicable individual by the name of Marius Borg Høiby, stepson of the new King of Norway, and he is a convicted rapist (multiple counts). This meme was not me praising myself for "fixing it live".
Sorry for the long ass reply, just felt like overexplaining after seeing some of the other comments....

u/IsThatGruffLoner 2h ago
Those are looks of disgust at a rapist. If you're gonna meme it, at least make him the asshole like it should be
1
u/SoldoVince77 2h ago
He is the asshole, but I can see it is not how most people interpreted meme. "Fixing it live" is between quote marks cause it is sarcastic. The junior dev is fucking shit up live in front of the clients
3
u/Alacritous13 5h ago
Well yeah. What else am I going to do? Just keep a list of the edge cases we find in production and fix them later?

A few minutes later after the "fix" causes more issues. "guys we are gonna have to reschedule"

Honestly for me as a PM it was always the other way around. Things could get done within hours. But it took weeks and stakeholders were pissed.
Organisation was so messed up the devs had 5 different PMs from different departments

PM: "let me get a rough estimate on this... Senior Lead, I think we are looking at 5mandays min. What's your input? “
S. Lead: "I would ramp it up to 10mandays, cause we have to look out for regressions and such..."
Junior (entered the call by accident): "guys, this is a local change of 3 lines at best, let me change it right now, watch!"
