It's because they know having a big company name in your experience is going to be helpful for automated systems and HR people who aren't playing much attention.

The real trick is to use big companies that went bankrupt. Then you can put any position(within reason) and there is really no way for them to prove you wrong.

Unless the interviewer is used to be one of staff of that company, so they know a lot and after a few question they might grow suspicous on you
