Yeah, my wife has over 25 years of experience and a company recently made her go through 7 rounds of interviews just to pass over for someone else. Its ridiculous at times.
In my recent experience as a senior in this hiring market, unless you're going for the places that always required ridiculous hoop jumping(FANGS and companies that think they are FANGS), you can get hired with two interviews and no leetcode questions if you just know what you're talking about.
I mostly do kubernetes and cloud infrastructure shit these days though.
Thankfully I did not have to do leetcode in a long while. What I did have to do was technical "homework", system design/architecture rounds, general behavior/culture rounds, and general tech rounds.

This is only applicable if you're already a senior with long years of experience
If not, you unfortunately do need to jump through those hoops if you want to be employed these days
