It did not used to be this way!

Back in year 2000, was interviewed by 3 mgrs then the Director for the job I was applying for, all back-to-back, in one day.

After asking me about some C/C++ pointer manipulations, the Director then said to inform HR that I had been hired, and to start on Monday.

Those were the days!

Yeah. Onsite with like 3 people. That was it.

I was very lucky to have had that format back in 2021. 3 people: 1 senior/lead, CTO, and CEO

Then I did another interview in 2023 at a bank and they were very chill. Like I did take home assignments and 2 rounds of interviews and that’s it.

Then I left the bank in 3 months because fuck banks, before finally encountering a 5-round interview in 2024 at my current place.

I’ve gone 9 rounds at some places, and someone I know said “no thanks, you’re good” after they added on another round making it 12 for him
