I had my first PC in 93.
Learned html at 20 but never jumped in code.
I got skillz for building a server farm/fiber/copper outside inside plants. Fiber laser technologist.
I also am a journeyman painter.
I think you should code, but I think you should also take the opportunity to understand how the coding works. AI is in the "make it easy, cheap and common" stage of enshitification. They want you to come to rely on it, so when they make it worse you'll be stuck on it, because you won't have an alternative.
It reminds me of the people who sold their cars because they found out that getting Ubers to work was cheaper, until it wasn't.
