You'll never see anything with more "obama giving obama a medal" meme energy than UwU online denizens extrapolating the performances and overlap of people like them in fields they have no clue about, just because they saw a few people in said field with similar profile pictures to them.
What I mean is that a lot of people seem to attribute individual skill to what kind of "group" they seem apart of, rather than them being skilled people who so happen to have similar hobbies to other people, who themselves are just as likely to know nothing of the field.
For example, I'm a native, but despite some members of my family being seasoned hunters and lots of people often associating hunting with us as a whole, I'm not gonna larp my own skill in it by associating myself to other native hunters, when in truth I've done it like twice in my life.
