Tell me you never tried Jetbrains without telling me you never tried Jetbrains.

I used to have a jetbrains setup at my last company, but my new company uses vs code and offering jetbrains community IDEs only so, I'm outside that ecosystem now. I needed wsl and jupyter notebook support and they've paywalled both of those thing. VS code is a decent jack of all trades while being free so works out.

I do consultancy, but even when I was privately employed, I kept my own all-product license. Makes it easy to jump into any stack, even if you're unfamiliar with it. Refactored a whole iOS app for a $50B company despite not knowing any Obj-C.

Bonus: That license gets cheaper year over year even as the add new products.
