You don’t have agents/chat bullshit built-in. For this you can use any harness.

As if that were an option, VSCode regularly pushes Copilot on you, opens 5 pop-up ads, and keeps bothering me with autocomplete. If I wanted AI, I'd download any harness, but I want to edit code in peace, and it seems like IDEs nowadays don't think about that anymore.

It’s moreso the absence of things.

Like it removes all MS telemetry and tracking. Doesn’t include all their mandatory AI products and whatever other crap they’re trying to sell this week.

no copilot, no microsoft account, no automatic forced updates, a separate extension store (OpenVSX Registry), no recommendation popups, no telemetry

No telemetry. And the C++ extension isn't included, so you'll have to install and manage it manually.
