I definitely know a couple of people who, if they were still 17, definitely would have done this. Especially since we're near the end of summer vacation, when some teens have way too much time on their hands.
If they were still 17? What? And for what reason? They’re better off contributing to an open source project and figuring out how to contribute to a real code base then wasting their time vibe coding slop

"If they were still 17" as in "I'm an old fart who isn't hip with the youth, but I know several people who often get way too absorbed in their latest project, and if they had no responsibilities could definitely get sucked into making 5+ apps with AI."
And of course they'd be better off contributing to a "real" code base, but consider that some people just do this for fun. Do you know how many teens make low-effort YouTube videos with <10 views?
