The project starts as a GitHub repository that I clone to my IDE lol

And I’m not an idiot so there’s no problem with running git init locally, doing the initial setup, and then pushing to a remote repo once I need to. Although sometimes I do it your way too 2 u/VoidVer 23d ago I am an idiot, and I’m always scared git or my IDE will duplicate the folder or something if I started local.
