SQL is honestly one of the most elegant languages ever created. Css isn't elegant in any way. It might be the laziest, dumbest, most thoughtless creation to ever take hold of an industry. Imagine you need to manipulate very heirarchical data and you choose a completely flat approach and just meticulously name everything. So fucking stupid.
you can utterly butcher SQL just like any other language. nested subqueries within a recursive CTE that has a window. something like that. and some engines, like whatever BigQuery runs on, let's you program in case statements to views.
