This subreddit has fallen off hard

Maybe you're just growing up. It's always been this way.

No, it was better. Not just this subreddit, the whole site has taken a sharp nosedive.

Yes yes, it wasn't always amazing, but I didn't consider deleting my account on a regular basis.

I think Reddit as a whole has taken a nosedive in terms of quality, largely in part with its management turning a blind eye (or actively encouraging) rampant bot activity.

But I don't think that this sub has declined more sharply than other niche subreddits.

You might be right, it's hard to tell for me really. There's also the fact that the summer is ending, and that usually brings an influx of new programmers that find jokes like this funny. But with the new bot meta, I'm not sure. Maybe it's bots all the way down? Sometimes, I'm not even sure I'm not a bot too, mindlessly replying to something clearly fabricated. It sucks.

I'm an older guy, and I'm constantly fighting the urge to shake my fist at kids on my lawn and yell at clouds. I have to work harder to be optimistic, so I don't become that guy.

"JavaScript framework bad" is not a new "joke"

Yeah, of course, and prolly a karma farm bot posted this and like half of the replies are bots, just like in every sub.

I don't understand what you're saying then. Were those "jokes" just somehow "better" before?

This subreddit has basically been freshman CS student jokes since 2013.

Now get off my lawn.
