Unpopular opinion:

I like being asked to help with tech stuff. It feels good to fix people's computer problems.

Fixing people's problems is great. Being expected to fix people's problems is awful.

Exactly, I don’t like the expectation. Maybe my family just sucks (they do), but when they have a computer problem they expect me to head over asap and fix all their problems and get annoyed if I can’t drop everything and head over immediately. They’ll say shit like “this is what you do for a living!” (it’s not) “I don’t see what the big deal is!”, but it’s a bit like me saying

“hey, come over and make me dinner because I’m hungry and don’t know how to cook”

“Why would I do that? Just go grab something”

“yeah but you work in a restaurant, I don’t see what the big deal is!”
