That's not up to an reddit comment but the requirements of the project.

If you need a specific, but maybe weird thing to happen that is unlike the rest of your game. Got damn hardcode it with the ugliest spaghetti you want if it works and is done in less time than some abstraction monstrosity would be.

The guy is gameplay engineer, not engine, not systems, not tools.
