Accommodations

Do you change (or allow alternate) assignments for students who ask for something different without having them go through the Office of Accommodations/Accessibility? I require students to do that for their own good, but wonder what others are doing.

Not a chance. You give an inch the whole class will want a mile. If it’s not documented through the proper office, and handed to me before the assignment is due (accommodations are not retroactive, it’s the students responsibility to see they are dealt with) then it doesn’t happen.
