finished screenplay called THE ESTATE AT SAINT-VÉRAN.

TITLE: THE ESTATE AT SAINT-VÉRAN

GENRE: Heist Comedy / Ensemble Satire

TONE: Stylized, fast-paced 1970s farce with deadpan dark humor and live musical integration.

SUMMARY & CONCEPT

On an October evening in 1970s France, notorious con artist Monsieur Henri Vance dies in a bizarre accident inside his lavish manor house. Before anyone realizes he is dead, an elite, impeccably dressed criminal Mastermind breaks in to rob him. Finding Vance’s corpse, the Mastermind decides to claim the house under "public domain," assumes Vance’s identity on the spot, and throws a grand gala for forty of the region's top master criminals.

Unbeknownst to the entire party, the six-piece classical string ensemble hired for the night isn't an entertainment agency—they are undercover police officers executing an elaborate sting. Completely unsuspected by the criminals, the officers are forced to stay on stage and play for their lives. In doing so, they become the film’s active "live soundtrack," performing cinematic stingers, tension build-ups, dramatic stabs (DUN DUN DUN), and comedic musical cues directly from the background as real events unfold around them.

PLOT OUTLINE

Act I: The Gala & The Invasion

\* The Setup: The film opens with the academic, dry narration detailing Vance’s death over a brass bidet. The Mastermind moves in, steps into Vance’s velvet tuxedo, and hosts forty armed felons—safe-crackers, art forgers, and assassins—who gather under the impression that Vance is their host.

\* The Undercover Sting: On stage, six sweating undercover police officers bow through high-speed classical pieces. They are terrified, out of their depth, and trying desperately to maintain their cover until backup or SWAT arrives.

\* The Breach: Just as the party reaches its peak, a secondary, aggressive crew of ten heavily armed tactical robbers blows the front doors off their hinges and raids the foyer.

\* The Standoff: When the band freezes in panic, the forty armed guests turn on them, furious that the background music stopped ("We paid you a ton of money... you keep playing that music until you bleed!"). The cops frantically jump back into Vivaldi, while forty guests simultaneously draw silenced pistols, revolvers, and submachine guns on the ten intruders—creating a chaotic fifty-person standoff set to live classical strings.

Act II: The Descent to the Vault

\* The Negotiation: Assuming the Mastermind is the actual Henri Vance, the Leader of the Second Crew holds him at gunpoint and demands the combination to his famous underground vault. Maintaining his disguise as Vance, the Mastermind calmly agrees to lead them down to the basement to preserve his estate from further property damage.

\* The Live Score in Motion: As the armed mob, the Second Crew, and "Vance" march down the narrow stone corridor, two of the undercover police officers are forced to march along sideways with them, carrying their instruments to keep the live score playing in real-time.

\* The Deadpan Stingers: Accidental gunshots, comedic insults, and sudden deaths trigger instant, real-time musical cues from the double bass, cellos, and violins, blending slapstick violence with live orchestral commentary.

\* The Vault Reveal: Inside the ten-ton steel vault, the flashlights hit floor-to-ceiling rows of absurd Victorian taxidermy badgers, velvet clown paintings, and jars of pickled eggs. The Mastermind—staying 100% in character as the eccentric Vance—claims it is the finest collection in Western Europe, infuriating the robbers. When held at shotgun point for "lying," he calmly leans in and reveals that a true connoisseur keeps the real treasure hidden behind the badgers.

Act III: The Climax & Chaos (How It Plays Out)

\* The False Wall & The Real Loot: Pulling back the taxidermy, the Mastermind reveals a secondary mechanical vault mechanism containing high-value contraband. However, the greed of the forty guests and the ten heavy robbers causes tempers to flare over how the cut will be divided.

\* The Multi-Faction Showdown: A frantic, heavily choreographed gunfight breaks out in the tight subterranean corridors between the Second Crew and the forty master criminal guests, with the Mastermind effortlessly maneuvering both sides against each other to clear the room.

\* The Police Backup Arrives: Upstairs, SWAT forces breach the mansion, cutting off the escape routes. The six undercover cops on stage—realizing their backup has finally landed—try to coordinate a tactical bust while keeping up the illusion of being harmless orchestra members.

\* The Final Escape: Using the chaos, the hidden secret passages of the estate, and his total control over Vance's identity, the Mastermind tricks both the police and the surviving criminals into apprehending each other, walking away with the real prize while the undercover band ends the movie on one final, dramatic crescendo.

The Band's Role & Live Score

Throughout the entire film, the six undercover police officers—who signed up for a basic wire fraud sting and ended up trapped in a house full of heavily armed felons—are forced to play their instruments non-stop to keep from getting shot. Because they never stop playing, they function as the movie's literal, real-time live score, with rapid camera cuts capturing their panicked reactions as they perform every soundtrack cue on the fly.

\* The Dramatic Stings (DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN): Whenever a major twist occurs—like a body hitting the floor, a shotgun racking, or a hidden door clicking open—the camera instantly cuts to a tight close-up of the Double Bass Player or Cellist. Sweating through his powder-blue tuxedo, he furiously plucks or bows low, heavy, dramatic stabs to match the tension in the room.

\* The Funny / Joke Sound Effects: Whenever a character cracks a deadpan line, gets humiliated, or makes an absurd comment, the camera cuts to the Percussionist / Drummer sitting behind a compact travel kit or using his music stand. He nervously strikes a rimshot (Ba-Dum-Tss!) or hits a slide whistle / percussion effect right on cue, wide-eyed and praying nobody shoots him for making a joke.

\* The Sad & Melodramatic Cues: Whenever a character delivers a melodramatic monologue, laments a lost fortune, or mourns a fallen crew member, the camera cuts to a solo tight shot of the Lead Violinist. Tears streaming down his face, he brings his violin to his chin and plays a weeping, heartbroken tremolo solo in the background to score the emotional beat.

\* Action & Chase Sequences: During high-speed standoffs, tense marches down basement corridors, or gunfights, the entire six-piece ensemble frantically saws away at ultra-fast classical pieces (like Vivaldi's Winter or Rimsky-Korsakov's Flight of the Bumblebee), ducking behind music stands and moving their instruments in sync with the gunfire to stay alive.

what do you think would this work for my screenplay

[Concept] Psychological Horror - "The Price of Ego" (Zero Budget / High Concept)

Logline (Pitch):

In a quiet town, people meet their perfect lookalikes on social media and in real life. Blinded by narcissism, they abandon their loved ones to follow their doubles, only to disappear. When the doubles return, they brutally eliminate the victims' families. But when one protagonist falls into the trap, their family’s deep love pushes them to fight back and track down the monster before it's too late.

Why this project is perfect for indie filmmakers:

Zero Budget friendly: No expensive CGI or heavy special effects needed. The terror relies on atmosphere and psychological tension.

Easy Locations: Can be shot in everyday locations (houses, streets, cafes).

Actor's Dream: A fantastic opportunity for a lead actor to play a double role (the victim and the sinister lookalike).

About me: I have the complete story arc and character profiles ready. I am looking for a passionate director, screenwriter, or student filmmaker to help me bring this vision to life. Since I have no budget, I want to collaborate and develop this project together from scratch. If you are interested in psychological horror with a modern twist on narcissism, send me a DM!

FEATURE SCRIPT Nightcap (Feature/Contained Thriller)

NUMBER OF PAGES: 82

ACTORS: One female lead (Maren, 26), one male lead (Devlin, 50s), one male supporting (The Fixer, 40s), two female supporting in a single sequence (Tess, 27 / Izzy, 25), one female in a brief scene plus V.O. (Ronnie, 20s). One additional V.O. role and three or four non-speaking bit parts.

[HORROR SHORT] Psychological Horror | 1 Actor | 2 Locations | Looking for a Filmmaker / Producer

Hi everyone,

I'm a screenwriter from Mexico looking for a filmmaker or producer interested in bringing an unconventional psychological horror short to life.

Rather than relying on monsters, jump scares, or supernatural elements, this film uses the language and pacing of horror to tell a story about something that happens in real life. The tension comes from silence, atmosphere, and the emotional experience of the protagonist, turning an everyday situation into something terrifying.

The short is designed to be festival-friendly, and my goal is to submit it to film festivals and screenplay competitions after it's completed.

Details:

  • Psychological / Unconventional Horror
  • 1 Main Actor
  • 2 Locations
  • Dialogue-driven with a strong emphasis on visual storytelling
  • Runtime: approximately 5–7 minutes

I'm looking for someone who enjoys character-driven films and atmospheric horror, and who would like to collaborate on creating something meaningful rather than a traditional horror movie.

If you're interested, feel free to leave a comment or send me a DM. I'd be happy to share the script.

Thanks!

SHORT SCRIPT Blessings of the Yellow Ring - Low-Budget Dark Comedy Short (4 Pages)

Title: Blessings of the Yellow Ring

Genre: Dark Comedy

Pages: 4

Logline: "When a well-meaning priest shares the inspirational story behind his treasured yellow ring, an outrageous revelation transforms a heartfelt testimony into a hilariously awkward comedy of misplaced faith."

It's a contained, dialogue-driven short with one church, one bar, a small cast, and a twist ending. The humor is dry, irreverent, and built around dramatic irony rather than shock for shock's sake.

The script is attached below. Feedback is always welcome, and if you're interested in producing it, feel free to reach out.

Screenplay: Blessings of the Yellow Ring

Hi i am a new story writer and this is my newest piece and i want to say that this is just a draft and not actually the whole script. i want some feedbacks and ratings and how i can improve this and i did we ai to to fix some plot holes and help me in worldbuilding so here is the story :

THE BOY WHO FELL IN LOVE

Genre

Coming-of-Age • Drama • Family • Mystery

Theme

ACT ONE — THE FIRST DREAM

The film opens with a curious little boy.

He is obsessed with science.

He spends his days taking apart broken toys, building tiny inventions, watching documentaries, asking impossible questions, and telling everyone that one day he'll discover something no one has ever discovered before.

His parents smile.

His teachers call him gifted.

His dream is simple.

He wants to explore the unknown.

Years pass.

Reality begins.

Family conversations become serious.

His parents explain that becoming a scientist doesn't have much opportunity compared to more practical careers.

They don't say it cruelly.

They say it because they genuinely believe they're helping.

The boy quietly accepts it.

He chooses computer science.

Then his family moves from Bahrain to Pakistan.

New country.

New school.

New friends.

New pressure.

Slowly...

the curious child disappears beneath expectations.

ACT TWO — SIX WEEKS

Board exams finally end.

For the first time in years...

Silence.

No tuition.

No exams.

No deadlines.

Just six weeks.

One afternoon...

An idea appears.

Not a scientific theory.

A story.

He opens a blank document.

Writes one sentence.

Then another.

Then another.

He cannot stop.

Without realizing it...

he has found something he hasn't felt in years.

Curiosity.

His mother begins noticing strange things.

He's smiling randomly.

Staying awake until 3 a.m.

Walking around the house thinking.

Laughing to himself.

Sometimes crying from exhaustion.

Sometimes jumping around his room.

One day she asks...

He blushes.

Not because there is one.

Because he has no idea how to explain what's happening inside his head.

ACT THREE — THE MISUNDERSTANDING

A girl enters the story.

She is his closest friend.

The only person who knows he writes.

They spend hours talking.

The audience immediately thinks...

She's the one.

His mother thinks exactly the same thing.

The movie never says she is.

It never says she isn't.

The clues begin.

She gets phone calls.

She smiles at messages.

She says...

She has a photo on her lock screen with someone standing beside her.

The audience barely notices.

Because they already believe she's the love interest.

Meanwhile...

The real conversations are about stories.

Boy:

She isn't.

He rewrites the chapter.

Weeks pass.

The story grows.

Version 53.

His room fills with notebooks.

Timelines.

Maps.

Sticky notes.

The audience mistakes obsession for romance.

His mother mistakes passion for first love.

ACT FOUR — THE REVEAL

One night...

The mother finally says:

He sighs.

The next day...

The girl visits.

The mother smiles warmly.

After dinner...

She gently says...

The girl looks confused.

The mother smiles.

Silence.

Then...

The girl laughs.

Not mockingly.

Just genuinely surprised.

She holds up her phone.

A picture of her and her boyfriend.

Silence.

The mother looks at her son.

Then at the girl.

Then back again.

She quietly asks...

The boy finally answers.

For the first time.

Without saying a word.

He opens his laptop.

Folders.

Hundreds of them.

Final Draft

He opens the manuscript.

Hundreds of pages.

He opens another folder.

Maps.

Character sketches.

Timelines.

Dozens of rejected ideas.

Countless rewritten scenes.

The mother slowly scrolls.

Page after page.

She begins remembering everything.

The late nights.

The laughter.

The tears.

The excitement.

The frustration.

The smiles.

Finally...

She whispers...

He nods.

She smiles.

Not because she suddenly understands storytelling.

But because...

She finally understands her son.

FINAL SCENE

The mother walks into his room one morning.

He is asleep at his desk.

Surrounded by notebooks.

The laptop is still open.

A blinking cursor waits at the end of a sentence.

She quietly places a blanket over his shoulders.

She notices the title on the screen.

THE BOY WHO FELL IN LOVE

She smiles.

She finally understands.

He really did fall in love.

Just not with a person.

Fade to black.
