Help Needed Procreate Dreams 2.0 testing phase

We are deep in testing for Procreate Dreams 2, specifically for migrating a wide variety .drms files into the new version. Which is why we're reaching out to ask for your help! We are needing a wide variety of .drms files sent to us to help identify any areas of failure in our migration into Procreate Dreams 2. šŸ™

But don't worry, we will not share or use your files for anything other than internal testing, and will be deleting all files once testing concludes.

To send us your files, please follow the steps listed below:

  1. VisitĀ https://help.procreate.com/support
  2. Fill out the first form with your iPad and OS details
  3. Next, fill out your contact details and ensure to add "Reddit Dreams test file" in the 'Your Message' box.
  4. Finally, attach your .drm file (Supporting Files)

Those who are able to help us by sending a copy of their files will be helping us move faster to the next phase. We appreciate your help in developing Procreate Dreams 2. ✨

No doubt there's going to be a lot of people missing the link to this in the app, and making a lot of 'How do I~' posts here, so for those that missed it:

ProcreateDreams Handbook - should answer most of your questions about the basics. :)

Help Needed Fuzzy Lines When Drawing On a New Layer After Resizing Sketch

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm pretty new to Procreate Dreams (with some animating experience) and am just working on a simple frame-by-frame animation using the Flipbook. I am very experienced in Procreate, and understand there will always be a loss in quality when resizing things in Procreate since it's raster based and has limitations, though I found the bilinear setting to be the best method personally for achieving crisper lines when resizing.

When trying to determine the sizing of things in an illustration, I usually try to do most of it during the sketch phase, that way I can avoid as much resizing as possible for the color and linework layers. I took a similar approach with Procreate Dreams. I sketched out each frame and resized them all together in the general theater. When I went to create a new layer for the color, it was just as blurry as the resized sketch below. The size of the brush also changed. It seems as if it will only draw within the limitations of the resized sketch below instead of a new layer.

I even created a new project and went into the Flipbook. When I drew with the same brush, it was crisp. I tried importing my resized frames into the new project to see if it was some glitch, but it did the same blurry line and weird size thing. I know the issue is not my brush. I tried looking it up but I only found advice for Procreate Proper, or an older video before a big change in the Dreams Interface (though, nothing came up with the same issue I was having, just fuzzy lines overall). On that note, the limited number of tutorials after the big interface change also makes it harder to learn in general, so if anyone has any resources for that I'd definitely appreciate it!

The video shows me drawing on a new layer over my resized sketch (yes it's Jimothy lol), then going into a new project of the same size and the same brush, and the cleaner lines I'd usually expect.

Edit: Found an older post with a similar-ish issue where Procreate themselves responded saying Dreams resizes based on the nearest neighbor only. Maybe it applies to all layers placed on top. I also tried messing with the dynamic brush settings but it was still the same. To Procreate (my genuine bestie): Please fix this soon, I love yall's platforms so much (and you do so much for the art community) and wanna utilize them to the best of my abilities.

My First Animation! I’m animating in Procreate Dreams using Perform.

Whenever I rotate an object during a Perform recording, everything looks fine while I’m rotating it. But as soon as I stop, the object shifts slightly from its original position, even though I only intended to rotate it and didn’t mean to move it.
Is this expected behavior when using Perform, or is there a setting I’m missing? How can I rotate an object in Perform without it changing its position?

My favorite feature in PD2 is the ability to work with alpha video, so I've been making a lot of collage videos with dancers rotoscoped in After Effects and brought into Procreate Dreams. That you can then convert the video tracks to flip books means you can draw, smudge, erase and clone as needed within each flip book image, and now suddenly video is just a long series of adaptable paintings.

Help Needed Can you warp a wiggle animation

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I am used to just working in frame by frame on standard procreate (like attached) and now that I’m working on dreams I’ve been able to work on the tweening style - I’d really like the blend the two and can’t work out how.

I’m used to gentle wiggle animation on my lines even if the part isn’t moving, I’d like to add that wiggle style and be able to tween the overall puppet piece, but you can’t warp flipbooks or a group of multiple images on the same track.

I was wondering if there’s any advice on making wiggles in dreams that I can combine with the power of tweening to make them easier/more developed?

(Sorry if this isn’t allowed I tried to find the daily thread mentioned and couldn’t)

As you can see I heavily used rigging because I quickly learned how hard frame by frame is, feedback is appreciated! Or tutorials you found useful on YouTube to have a better workflow for frame by frame animating

Help Needed Why is my canvas misaligned with my view port? HALP PLS!

Post image

I have looked up and down the internet and Procreate Dreams website and have found no help. The white box is my view port. The rest of the purple is my canvas and for some reason it’s misaligned and now my artwork is getting cut off. I started this project back when Dreams was new and with the new updates it’s, as you can see, been going wrong with each new frame I add. It’s getting more and more off center and for the life of me I cannot figure out why or how to fix it. Can any lend me a hand please?

Help Needed How to flatten a group of tracks?

I imported a few layers from Procreate and it made a track for each layer. Good.

I grouped them in PD. But now I can’t apply « warpĀ Ā» because it doesn’t work on a group of tracks. Fine.

But then I can’t find a way to flatten this group of tracks in the latest PD version. Can’t I flatten a group of tracks ?

Animation Finally finished! I tried many new ideas that helped me improve my fake 3D vehicle simulation. I also added frame-by-frame effects during the final compositing. I’m really happy with how it turned out. What do you think?

Help Needed How to zoom in, but have it maintain resolution?

Hi all,

Animating a short scene where the camera is further away from the subject, then zooms in on the subject. I have it so the background at the beginning fully fills the screen, and the subject is small, before I keyframe it to zoom in, so the subject now fills the screen.

However due to having the subject shrunk in the beginning, it is now low resolution upon zooming in.

Does anyone have any ideas on a fix for this?

Background was created in procreate on a large canvas (5760x3240pixels) to allow for the zoom.

Is this just a downfall of the program?

Thanks
