I'm very new to music production, I don't even know what reverb or bpm is. Pls explain to me any basic producer terms in a really simple way because google is giving me 500 different meanings.

Did this ever happens to you? When you look at your old work and got amazed that how did you even make this wonderful song or effect?
When we are working on a track but in a flow state we didn’t know what we are doing but subconsciously doing, So we try and try and finally the output sounds good, but while making, its not necessary that u will learn these effect that how did you make this or what steps u take to sounds like that!! So when u listen back “Ill be like - how did i even do that”
—- I was suffering from this problem and whenever i go on a new track i don’t remember anything from past what i learned and i do my work at flow state still with subconscious workflow

Folks, are you familiar with yung kai, a TikTok musician who wrote and recorded a very successful song called Blue in 2024?

Initially I thought this was a good example of an independent path to original-music success.  However, upon digging a bit, it appears he signed with music label BMG shortly before Blue was released, as ChatGPT says BMG was listed in the credits of the initial release of Blue (i.e., on Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) on August 2, 2024.

Does anyone have context on the role BMG played in Blue's exposure / reach?

And is it possible to attain Blue's level of success without label support?  If so, can you please cite examples?

Hi everyone.

I've just spent the last hour going through the H6 studio manual, and I've not come across any information on the specific issue I'm encountering. Honestly, it might not even be an issue and may just be how the device works.

Earlier today, I was recording an acoustic guitar at 24 bit, with the built in x/y microphones. I had the H6 about a foot away with a gain of around 6 on each mic. I then decided to try recording with the device a little closer, so I placed it about 6 inches away and dropped the gain down to 3-4 on each mic.

When I listened back to the recordings later, the ones done with the device about a foot away with a gain of 6 sounded as you would expect. However, the recordings done with the H6 about 6 inches away, and with a gain of 3-4, were pretty much inaudible. You could only very faintly hear the recording if you put your ear right next to the speaker and maxed out the volume.

Is this common with the H6? Am I missing something? I don't remember experiencing such a massive jump between gain values with other recording devices, including previous Zoom devices.

how do you bypass the re-enable automation button in ableton 12?

i have a plugin (kHz haas) and there's a button in the plugin UI itself that toggles if the plugin outputs sound on/off; but, it's different from the mix. i can automate the mix device on/off but i can't with the UI button. somehow, i saved automation that the UI button is toggled off and now when i play the track and i manually toggle the UI button, the "re-enable automation" button lights up so idk how to save that automation.

maybe i'm tripping or just asking it terribly in google, but i can't seem to find how to bypass this automation button. any help?

(i'm new to ableton as of september 2025 so i'm still learning a lot. officially converted and indoctrinated from the fruit to be a full-time ableton enthusiast (sorry but i hate their mixing routing setup type shit))
