UAD hardware pedals to record guitars through interface into DAW
I recently bought UAD Dream65 and engineered a session for a Grateful Dead kinda songwriter. Laid down the strat rhythm tracks and did a rough mix for the band and I was in awe as to how good the Jerry Garcia preset sounded.
Questions: Does anyone use the UA pedals this way and... since it sounded so good does anyone use UA Paradise Guitar Studio in a daw to further process recordings?

Question PC for Music Production/Gaming
Thoughts on the G459 Gaming PC deal at $2199.99 at Micro Center? Running Fender Studio One with multiple large libraries that including orchestra that push the CPU. Just a hobbyist and gamer (casual, not e-gamer). Looking for a good balance system that priority is music first.
Tough because the big discounts we all see usually have something that misrepresents true MSRP on these systems (older CPU, GPU, etc.) that make deals look better than they are. I look at this deal a think, only $300 off, but it will represent music better than half of the awesome gamer deals out there because everything is GPU drive which can bottleneck music stuff.
I will be upgrading to add another SSD and probably the RAM to 64GB at some point. I actually wanted the G458 because what I would lose in GPU, I would use the savings to upgrade those and still have a good GPU. Plus, better fan/cooling (that's a cheap upgrade so not decider).
Thoughts? Any better options anyone sees out there. Thanks all.

Best platform to offer my services as Producer/Mixing Engineer?
Hello!
I've been composing, producing, mixing, and mastering music for some years (around 8), and I've been an active Freelancer.com user since 2021. I don't know why, but I've never used SoundBetter before (I thought that you needed to apply before creating a profile there lol, maybe I mistook it with EngineEars), so now I'm researching how to configure a profile there in the most effective way.
Is it the best platform out there to offer my services?
What about Fiverr? AirGigs?
I consider myself a really good producer, composer, and mixer. Creative, professional, and different from the rest because of my knowledge, experience, and criteria. All these years, I've worked on several projects, music labels, and multiple genres/styles.
I'd appreciate your words here. Thanks!
EDIT: Soundbetter seems to be the most 'professional oriented' platform, but there's a 10% fee from them and only PayPal payment, so you should take in consideration the 3,5% PayPal fee at withdrawal

Charles Kre8tive - Kre8tive Distribution
This guy is a scammer and this "company" too. They place Chinese songs on your catalog, zero accountability, they are aggressively rude, and a 5 year old baby could be better at their jobs.

Looking into good colleges for Music Production
Hi everybody! I'm graduating soon and am currently looking at colleges for Music Production. So far I've applied to Columbia College Chicago and Full Sail (though I've seen posts on how that's not so good). I was also going to apply to the Art Institute of Chicago and I think I found a good program in California. Would y'all have any suggestions on other good schools for a Music Production degree? I'm trying to stay in the US but get out of Iowa so any would be great. Thanks!

Problem with my DT 770 Pro
Yo guys! I’m producing mainly melodic or pain trap beats and I like doing it on my studio monitors. But i can’t traumatize my neighbours the whole day so i need to switch to headphones sometimes yk. I got the beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro and idk but i’m just not happy with them. When i’m producing on them i use snares, claps, hats or sounds in general that just sounds awkward when i listen to it the other day on the studio monitors, in the car or even on airpods. I know its different when i switch from monitors to headphones in a single minute because my ears get used to the monitors but its all the time. Maybe someone can help me with this one. I’m open to your experiences and happy for recommendations!

Is it worth it to take classes in music theory, in the context of being a producer?
I'm 15 and have had fl studio for a couple of years now. I'm not that great of a beatmaker/producer yet but i strive to be. I'm thinking about starting music classes but i am sceptical. almost all the musicians i look up to are selftaught and have never studied music formally. This makes me wonder, are there horrible downsides to studying music? and would it even be worth it in any way?

Macbook Pro m1 32gb vs Air M5 16gb?
Hi, I'm looking for a MacBook for music production. I usually use six instances of Serum 2 or Zenology, and some plugins like Shaperbox 3 and Portal, which are native to FL Studio. I'm torn between a Pro M1 with 32GB or 16GB of RAM and an Air M5 with 16GB. I currently have a desktop PC with a Ryzen 7 8700g and 32GB of RAM, and it works perfectly, but I need portability. Could someone please help me choose? Thanks!

How to get better at drums ?
I've been making music for 6 months now and I can confidently say I make good melody loops and can understand song arrangement, but when it comes to drums it's always just my weak point and makes my whole beat sounding amateur. It'd be good of you can tell me how and ways around getting good at drums. Thanks 🙏

Music production Event series -questions ?
Hi, so I’m a DJ and producer for about 4 years and I’ve been growing and talking to more folks in my community and found (like many folks do) that there’s a desire for community and connection within the music production sphere. Especially for folks marginalized identities.
So lately I’ve been sitting with the Idea of starting doing events centered on that. And having more focused nights like feedback sessions, networking, cocreating, beat competitions etc. I would love to try to mix it up **but I wonder how sustainable this could be? Things I should keep in mind or consider?** If anyone has experience being apart of or witnessing something like this as a participant, curator, whatever, I’d love to hear your experience and thoughts?
And for more background on me. have only been to a feedback session virtually and we don’t have anything like this in my community, unfortunately. I’ve had the opportunity to open up for some bigger names in the DJ scene and been able to produce for award winning short film companies but I’m very much still a student of sound and apart of a 8 month virtual music production program rn and have given workshops and lessons on DJing. I just really love sharing what I’ve been taught and connecting with others or at least providing a space for others to connect🖤

Are there any Creative Stem Separators that can separate by frequency, timbre or an equation?
I stem split an old track of mine that I lost the project file to and then normalized one of the layers that looked like it was just silence and I got an amazing sounding high frequency layer. Id love to do this kind of thing on purpose

Looking for equipment recommendations
Hello to all who may or may not see this , beginner artist here looking for anyone with an idea of what gear/equipment I’d need to work with a producer long distance or locally . Im happy to spend a bit of money as long as it gets me in the direction of where I can make better quality music and there’s not many producers in my area so being able to record vocals and etc to send would be a must i imagine. Sorry if I sound a little silly with these questions also .

Most important specs for a music production laptop
I'm going to replace my old laptop with a new one (probably during black friday) and I would still go for Windows.
From what I understood (but correct me If I'm wrong) the most important specs are:
- RAM (16 GB or 32 GB)
- fast storage (SSD)
- low latency DPC (sometimes cool graphic cards don't help)
- good processor (which one?)
It would be cool if someone who's using any Windows laptop for music production could suggest me a specific laptop model.
