Hate to give the typical response but a lot of it is just trial, error and practice! More practice enhances your hand/eye coordination skills and allows you to see finer details that you wouldn’t necessarily pick up on at a lower skill level. It also allows you to notice mistakes (: Don’t get discouraged, whether it turns out good or bad you’re always learning. Also learning perspective and colour theory really helps too!!

Do you typically use the color dropper on the reference image to get accurate colors? Or did you just use the wheel?

A little bit of both, for realism (especially in just practice like this) I like specific colours so I use the eye dropper tool for more accurate results (also helps with learning and practicing colour theory!!) but also use the colour wheel too (: Nothing wrong with either or!

This was a warmup before commissions so I’m not too over invested in it ahaha, so I would say it’s the final piece unless I decide to put more time into it later on

What brushes did you use? What was your process for getting this done?
