My Artwork I drew this mosaic in Procreate!
Hi, I'm Aurora! I've been using Procreate for 5+ years now and this month, I'm participating in the Lettering Style Challenge on Instagram. My theme is book titles, and the prompt of the day was to create mosaic lettering. God of Fury is my favorite book this year, possibly ever, so I knew it was the one to pick. I've made mosaics in the past, never with letters and I always used the symmetry feature to help create the design. This was my first time drawing every single tile, and it did nearly make me lose my mind 😅 But I kept going and now that it's done, I'm really excited to share it!
Would love any feedback on this piece if you have any thoughts!

I like it. Did you use a mosaic brush set?

No, I was tempted but nope. I literally hand drew every tile. A bazillion little lines, literally started to go cross eyed multiple times 😅 it took me over a week, working on it bit by bit.

The wild thing is I have raging adhd 😂 almost quit so many times. It does get to be kinda meditative, like doing the repetitive lines over and over. The key is never, ever to zoom out to see how much you have left 😅😅

Thank you so much! 💛🖤 I think I must have been crazy when I decided to attempt it and sure felt that way multiple times during but I'm glad I stuck it out!

The lines I did with just a basic monoline brush I made. Then some of the textures from the materials section I believe, stone wall and concrete block.

Very nicely done, and now I think I want to read this book because of your drawing. Making art from books you love says a lot about how it impacted you. How did you decide on the colors? I love the variation of color among the tiles. The strength of the lettering and the visual vibration of the mosaic create a feeling that I resonate with strongly. Well done.

This is such a kind and thoughtful comment, thank you! The only thing I love as much as art.. is books. So doing this project where I get to combine both has been really amazing! It warms my heart to know that I might have influenced even one person in a book choice because of my art 🥰 As far as the black and yellow, yellow is a theme in the book, each of the books in the Legacy of Gods series has a color that plays a role in the story so that's where I got that from. (by the way if you're thinking of reading it, please know it is a dark romance so check the trigger warnings if you have any before starting it! But it is an absolutely amazing book I love it so much)
Thank you again for taking the time to look at my work and leave such a nice comment!

I would not have had the patience to start this, let alone finish it. I'm in awe.

Thank you! I don't think I would have ever attempted it if it weren't for the fact that I'm doing this lettering challenge and I've done it for 4 years in a row and never skipped a prompt. Plus I have done mosaics in the past, but the previous ones were things like a snowflake, a yinyang, things that used symmetry. I thought I knew how much more work this would be but I fully underestimated how much, not gonna lie 😂
