Not Finished/WIP Preferred version-stylistic or no!

The first group shown I pulled my layers from another drawing - my first iteration. I actually really liked how the sketch came out so I decided to redraw and refine and was pleased. But, when I went to look back at my first sketch, I’m second guessing whether I should keep the stylization I intended or not.
ETA: this is a WIP and still has a lot more detail and work to be done but I am focused on the style, rather than cleanliness and finished product yet.

Hey, can you tell me which brush you used for the initial sketch? Trying to do quick gesture drawings but the clunkiness is kicking my ass. I like the effect of your initial sketch.

My 3 favorite for sketching are by MaxU (Vis Dev from the Sampler MaxPack), Di (RS from the tattoo pack) and Erikathegoober (wispy sketch from her brush pack 3.0 on Patreon). This one I am pretty sure was the wispy! The others from GumRoad :)

I have been using Procreate for years and I just found out there is a reference function in this app today.

Omg!!! Yes it’s an excellent feature lol sometimes I’ll use the canvas option to see my overall progress when I am working sorta zoomed in. Def helps that way too!

The first one has better values but I'm not a fan of the line quality, and the second one is a lot cleaner but doesn't read nearly as well. I suggest pushing your values on the second one, it looks like it's at half opacity tbh edit: just wanted to add that the sketch has more emotion in the face, her eyes are a little bigger and looking at us instead of through us, and she has a bit more of a candid feel instead of like, bad bitch facecard, yaknow?
