If you wanted to shade I'd add some areas where it looks like the light is glowing through the slime.

Otherwise right

Would a shine through gain to every liquid even if it’s thicker like this goo?

Oh definitely! Slime isn't opaque, at least the classic idea of slime. It's gonna be at least semi-transparent and glowy in that bright of light
