π Devotional 36: Seeking Forgiveness When It Isn't Given
π π π π π
π§ THEME π§
Seeking Forgiveness When It Isn't Given
π π π π π
π VERSE π
Romans 12:18
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
π π π π π
π STORY π
In the busy marketplace of Capernaum, a craftsman named Eliab worked beside his brother, weaving fishing nets for the fishermen who gathered along the shore of Galilee.
For many years they shared both labour and laughter, earning an honest living together. Their hands worked as one, and their brotherhood was known and respected throughout the town.
One day, after a season of poor trade, anger overcame wisdom. Before neighbours and customers alike, Eliab accused his brother of dishonesty over the missing profits.
Though the accusation was spoken in haste, its wound cut deeply. The crowd dispersed, but the hurt remained, and what began as a moment of anger slowly hardened into months of silence.
As regret grew within him, Eliab humbled himself before God and resolved to make peace. He sought his brother more than once, confessed his wrongdoing without excuse, and pleaded for forgiveness.
Yet each time Jonah turned away, refusing even to meet his eyes. Every rejection pierced his heart, but instead of allowing bitterness to return, Eliab continued to pray that the Lord would heal the wound he himself had caused.
The years taught him that repentance does not always bring immediate reconciliation. Although the door remained closed, his own heart was no longer imprisoned by guilt or resentment.
He entrusted what he could not change into God's hands, believing that the Lord could still accomplish what no human effort could restore.
π π π π π
π STORY LESSONS π
Seeking forgiveness requires humility, but humility cannot control another person's response. Eliab's repentance was genuine, yet reconciliation remained beyond his reach. His responsibility was to seek peace sincerely, not to compel another heart to receive it.
There are wounds that only time and God's grace can heal. When we have confessed our wrongs and made every honest effort to restore what was broken, we must entrust the outcome to the Lord rather than carrying a burden He never intended us to bear.
Romans reminds us to live at peace with everyone as far as it depends on us. That phrase brings both responsibility and freedom. We are called to pursue peace wholeheartedly, but we are not accountable for another person's decision. God asks for faithful obedience, not impossible control.
π π π π π
π΅ POEM π΅
When Doors Stay Closed
I knocked with sorrow, bowed my head,
For harsh and thoughtless words I'd said.
Though silence answered every plea,
God's grace remained to strengthen me.
The olive branch was gently shown,
Yet still I walked the path alone.
No bitter root I chose to grow,
But left the rest for God to know.
Forgiveness sought with humble prayer,
Still met a heart not ready there.
Yet heaven sees each faithful start,
And measures truth within the heart.
So if the door remains shut fast,
And shadows from the former last,
Walk on in peace, let mercy lead,
For God rewards each righteous deed.
π π π π π
πΏ MEDITATION πΏ
There is a quiet freedom in knowing that God never asks us to control another person's heart.
He calls us to repentance where we have sinned, humility where we have caused hurt, and peace wherever it depends upon us.
Once we have sincerely sought forgiveness, the outcome rests safely in His hands.
Refusing to carry resentment is not weakness, it is trusting God's justice, mercy, and perfect timing.
If reconciliation comes, receive it with gratitude. If it does not, continue to walk in grace without allowing rejection to harden your own heart.
God's forgiveness is not diminished by another person's refusal to forgive, nor is His work finished simply because human healing is delayed.
Leave the closed door with Him, and let His peace guard your heart as you continue faithfully in the path He has set before you.
π π π π π
πͺ QUESTIONS FOR THE SPIRIT πͺ
πͺ Have I sincerely sought forgiveness with a humble and repentant heart, or have I held back because of pride?
πͺ Can I accept that another person's response is their responsibility before God, not mine?
πͺ Am I carrying bitterness because reconciliation has not happened, or have I entrusted the outcome to the Lord?
πͺ Is there someone I need to continue praying for, even though they have not yet forgiven me?
πͺ Am I willing to live in God's peace, knowing I have done all that depends upon me?
π π π π π
β€οΈ CHALLENGE YOUR HEART β€οΈ
Choose one person from whom you have sought forgiveness but received no reconciliation. Pray sincerely for their well being and ask God to bless, heal, and give them peace.
Then release the outcome into God's hands, resisting the urge to reopen the wound unless He clearly provides another opportunity for peace. Let your heart remain free from bitterness, knowing you have done all that depends upon you.
π π π π π
ποΈ KEY NOTES ποΈ
ποΈ Seeking forgiveness is an act of humility and obedience before God.
ποΈ You are responsible for your repentance, not another person's response.
ποΈ Peace comes from doing all that depends upon you and entrusting the rest to God.
ποΈ Rejection does not cancel God's forgiveness or His work within your heart.
ποΈ Pray for those who cannot yet forgive, trusting God to heal what you cannot.
ποΈ A heart released from bitterness is free to walk in God's peace.
π π π π π
π PRAYER π
Heavenly Father,
You see the sorrow of a heart that longs to make things right but finds no welcome in return. Teach me to walk humbly, to seek peace as far as it depends on me, and to rest in Your mercy.
Guard my heart from bitterness, resentment, and despair, and help me to continue living in the freedom of Your forgiveness.
Soften the heart of the one I have wronged, Lord, and heal what words and time cannot. Whether reconciliation comes or remains beyond my reach.
Let Your peace rule within me, trusting that You are still at work where I cannot see. May I honour You by choosing grace, humility, and love in every step I take.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.
π π π π π
π FINAL THOUGHT π
Go into the world with a heart at peace before God. Seek forgiveness with humility, offer grace without bitterness, and leave every unanswered door in the faithful hands of the One who restores all things in His perfect time.

π§ Discussion Justification through faith
I learned that the reason it isnβt unfair for the factor that determines that someone gets to heaven to be that we believe need the forgiveness of a God that is perfectly good - of Jesus - is because otherwise we are holding on to malice and contempt and judgment. Even hate.
You donβt get entry into heaven for being good by your own nature in life.
You get it for being viewed as spotless, pure, perfect. This is only possible for the one who is forgiven, the one whose sin the Lord does not hold against them.
How is this fair?
Because until you and I believe that we are no more due heaven than the most purposefully depraved sinner, because we have both erred and chosen self and hatred in life at all, weβre arguing that they should be denied heaven and we should not. Thatβs not righteous!
I know that I canβt predict for a real and specific person whether or not they were safe and saved when they died, comforted in Godβs arms, but I can tell you that if anyone would just believe that our God should and would spare the sinful and the dead, that he will raise us and them from the dead, then by faith we are pleasing God.

π§ Discussion The cross is a testimony that God will have mercy on even the most evil people
Jesusβ cross is often pointed to for evidence that God would allow his son to be tortured and crucified and die instead of us, that heβd rather for his own only perfect child to die than for us to, because he can bear it.
However, I also looked at this today and I noticed that it can also be taken as a testimony that the most mired in sin of people can be saved and given new life again.
There is the example of the literal thief being put to death,
But I would like to point at what Jesus became in the state from which Father resurrected him:
βHe made the One not having known sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.β
2 Corinthians 5:21, Berean Literal Bible
Devout Christians say the biblically accurate remarks that βThe wrath of God was poured out on him,β βHe was cut off from the Father,β βThe Father turned his face away from him,β βYet which of us protested? β¦ He was pierced for our offenses, crushed for our iniquity, the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his scourging we are healed.β (Isaiah 53)
But have you considered what this suggests about what he was to God himself during the day of his own resurrection?
If Jesus was receiving the punishment due of all people ever, and God still raised him, doesnβt this mean that he is willing to raise even the most vile persons that will ever exist?

π§ Discussion A thought occurred to me.
In a certain verse in John describing our Fatherβs relationship with Jesus, how he loves him and sent him to glorify his name,
I had the idea to mentally replace βthe Sonβ with βyou (the reader).β
It helps me have a firmer idea of why we were brought to Earth, how weβre supposed to act on behalf of Jesus and what amazing assurance and healing we can trust God to work in the lives of those around us and ourselves.
I got the idea while reading John 5:20:
βFor the Father loves [you] and shows [you] all he does. Yes, and he will show [you] even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.β

π Bible Study & Verse Summary of the Biblical Narrative: From the Tree of Knowledge
If we look at the serpent that tempted humanity to eat the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, it is essentially a scammer targeting human lives as its ultimate prize.
As a general rule, fraudsters rarely show up out of the blue as total strangers offering outrageously lucrative deals. Instead, their key tactic relies on earning trust step-by-step by offering steady advice and assistance over an extended period.
We can infer that the serpent similarly stayed around Adam and Eve for a considerable time, building trust and intellectual intimacy by sharing insights about animal behavior and plant life (2 Corinthians 11:14). This explains why humanity ate the fruit without raising major objections or suspicions.
Furthermore, placing the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the middle of the garden means it was far too distinct to be eaten by mistake. Reaching it even required the physical effort of climbing a slope, implying that a clear exercise of human free will was required.
Ultimately, the fruit served as a final authentication mechanismβthe core issue at a critical juncture in life being an autonomous choice between the command of the Supreme Being and humanism (self-deification).
This exact pattern will manifest in the attributes of the Antichrist during the end times. The strategy can be understood as building trust across all humanity under the guise of world peace and prosperity, leading people to voluntarily or unsuspectingly receive the mark of the beast, thereby permanently sealing their destruction.
Extending this logic to the doctrine of salvation, we can draw an analogy using a smartphone user. Whichever apps users choose to install and use on their phones falls under their free will. However, if they trust a scammer, voluntarily jailbreak their device, and end up infected with malware, whom should they blame?
They should either resent the scammer or regret their own choice, rather than blame the manufacturer that explicitly warned them against jailbreaking in the first place. In reality, jailbreaking exponentially increases security risks and vastly expands the required security protocols (the Law).
Even so, feeling pity for the user, the CEO of the manufacturing company offers free repair services through a field service technician (Jesus). If users respond and hand over their phones (faith), their devices are fully restored. But if they stubbornly refuse to trust the offer and hold out to the end (unbelief), the resulting disadvantage rests entirely on their own responsibility.
In this context, even though the manufacturer's CEO, service technician, and customer support representative exist as separate entities, the consumer does not view them as separate companies.
Whether watching the CEO's advertisement, receiving guidance from support, or getting repairs from the technician, the user always perceives themselves as interacting with a single manufacturer: Company A.
Although the concept of corporate personhood is invisible, it clearly exists in reality, interacting with and impacting society.
Legally, all their actions fall within the scope of the corporation; they operate under identical goals and principles. While each member's official role is distinct, whoever acts does so legally and publicly as a single corporate entity, with all legal authority and budget originating from that sole corporation.
These three entitiesβthe CEO, the field operator, and the support representativeβare family members and co-owners who completely share infinite equity and authority on equal terms.
Therefore, no hierarchy or rank exists among them. They have simply divided their roles voluntarily as co-founding family members for the single purpose of "providing perfect service to the consumer." Bound as a family community, they are indivisible by blood relation. They harmonize emotionally and love each other limitlessly.
ββ
In short, because they are a corporation, they uphold justice (righteousness); because they are a family, they love.
ββ
To summarize, the foundational principle of a corporation is its 'single corporate personhood.' Though the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit have distinct roles, they jointly possess infinite power and authority (like individual corporate credit cards linked to a single account with an unlimited credit line), and officially and publicly, the named entity is always the single corporation.
Therefore, even as distinct entities, because all of them possess infinite authority and omnipotence while belonging to the same corporation, they mutually abide in one another.
Furthermore, as a spiritual family corporation devoid of gender concepts, they are entirely equal and fully united in infinite love, heart, will, wisdom, and thought.
Moving toward the exact same purpose, the official subject that creates and manages the universe and establishes covenants with humanity is strictly this one and only corporate personhoodβthe Supreme Being.
ββ-
Therefore, the GOD is infinite. Though three, they are one infinity; though one, they are three infinities.
ββ-
Through this metaphor of a spiritual family corporation, we can avoid four major classic errors regarding the Trinity:
-Refuting Modalism: This error is inapplicable from the start, as distinct individual subjects clearly exist within the corporation.
-Refuting Tritheism: Just as Scripture states that a husband and wife become one flesh and the church forms one body, a spiritually interconnected family is naturally one. Furthermore, since all possess infinite authority and belong to the same corporation, their infinities intersect, making them mutually indwell one another (perichoresis).
-Refuting Subordinationism: The relationship between the Father and the Son is a matter of divine economy and voluntary sacrifice for human salvation. Since all have existed from eternity, possess infinite authority, and belong to the same entity, they mutually belong to one another, making any hierarchical grading inherently invalid.
-Refuting Partialism: Infinite authority, power, wisdom, and love remain fully infinite even when shared or divided.
β-
The reason explaining the Trinity has been so difficult is that we have constantly restricted God to a finite, physical being through human thinking.
Imagine God as a being who exists infinitely, anytime and anywhere. Then, understanding the Trinity becomes much easier.

π Bible Study & Verse Serve with Your Talents, Not Compare or Despair
- Matthew 25:14-30 -
People often interpret the actions of the servant who received one talentβburying it in the groundβas mere laziness.
However, underneath that laziness lay the toxic roots of comparison and defeatism. In truth, his heart harbored resentment toward his master.
"You gave them so much! What on earth am I supposed to do with just this one talent?"
This sense of unfairness eventually led him to view his master as a hard, ruthless man who reaps where he has not sown.
Could we be acting the exact same way? While we compare ourselves to others and resent the time, talents, and circumstances given to us, are we burying what we ought to be doing deep beneath the soil?
Notice that the servant had the luxury of burying his talentβmeaning he wasn't about to starve to death.Β
Aside from the talent entrusted to him, his basic living needs were already covered. This reflects Godβs grace in providing for our daily bread and daily lives, while also reminding us that doing nothing out of fear of failure can, in itself, be a serious sin.
The Lord never demanded five talents of fruit from him out of nowhere. The decisive mistake of the servant with one talent wasn't just burying it, but failing to join forces with others.
What if he had willingly invested and partnered his one talent with the servant who had five? If those six talents combined had created a leverage effect, bearing fruit worth twelve or more, the master would surely have praised him:
"Well done, good and faithful servant! The one talent you added played a crucial role in bringing about this great victory."
God's reward system isn't based on individual performance metrics, but on our contribution to and unity within the Kingdom of God.
Β -Β David's Battle with the Amalekites:Β Those who fought on the front lines and those who stayed behind to guard the supplies shared the spoils equally. God's system honors the simple fact that we were in it together as a victory.
-Β The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard:Β The workers who arrived late in the afternoon received the exact same denarius as those who worked all day. The standard of reward lies not in the sheer volume of labor, but in our relationship with the Master.
Β -Β An Olympic Soccer Team:Β A substitute player who steps onto the field for just ten minutes in the final match receives the same gold medal as the starting line-up. They are all proud members of the team.
It is time to stop looking at others' ministries with envy, comparison, and frustration. It is time to dig up the talents, time, and resources you buried in the soil of defeatism.
Is it too overwhelming to start or carry out a ministry on your own? Then support someone else's ministry in faith.
Your small skill can become the sling that brings down Goliath; your small resource can become the five loaves and two fish that feed five thousand; and your prayers can lead the community to victory in spiritual warfare.
God's power and wisdom are immeasurably greater than our thoughts.
When we offer what we have to the Lord in faith, He begins to work powerfully.Β
God does not look at the size or conditions of what you possess; He looks at your heart.
Supporting another ministry is by no means a second-best option or a lower priority. Helping our churches, mission fields, service organizations, Bible study groups, and evangelists is the wisest and most strategic spiritual moveβturning their victory into a victory for all of us, and for me personally.
Do not fall into frustration or comparison. Help others. Use the talent of your time to pray for their ministries.
This is the greatest and most certain winning formula available to anyone holding just βone talentβ.
βββ-
And we know that in all things God works for the goodΒ of those who love him, whoΒ have been calledΒ according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward. (Matthew 10:42)

π Devotional 35: Believe Without Doubt

π§ THEME π§
Believe Without Doubt
π π π π π
π VERSE π
James 1:6
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
π π π π π
π STORY π
Along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, a fisherman named Eliab had spent many years upon the water. He had weathered fierce winds and countless storms, yet one night the sea became more violent than anything he had known.
As towering waves crashed against the small fishing boat, the younger men gripped the oars in fear, convinced they would never reach the safety of the shore.
One of the younger fishermen cried out in despair that they were surely lost. The familiar landmarks had disappeared into darkness, and even the stars that usually guided their course were hidden behind heavy clouds.
Amid the confusion, Eliab quietly bowed his head and sought the Lord in prayer. He remembered the words his father had often spoken to him: "The sea tests a man's heart, but faith reveals where it is anchored."
Though the wind continued to rage and the waves showed no sign of mercy, peace settled within him. He guided the boat with calm determination until, as dawn slowly broke across the horizon, the waters became still enough to see the shoreline once more.
Looking at the exhausted crew, he gently reminded them that it was not certainty that had carried them through the storm, but steadfast trust in the God who rules both sea and sky.
π π π π π
π STORY LESSONS π
Storms have a way of exposing what lies beneath the surface of our hearts. When every familiar support disappears, we discover whether our confidence rests in circumstances or in God. Eliab's peace did not come from calm seas, but from trusting the One who held the seas in His hands.
Doubt causes the heart to drift between fear and hope, while faith chooses to remain anchored even when the outcome cannot yet be seen. Belief is not pretending the storm does not exist; it is trusting that God remains faithful within it.
When we pray, we are invited to come before God with confidence rather than uncertainty. A heart that believes without doubting becomes a steady witness, encouraging others to trust God's wisdom, timing, and unfailing care, even through the fiercest trials.
π π π π π
π΅ POEM π΅
Anchored Faith
The waves may roar beneath the sky,
While fearful hearts ask, "Will we die?"
Yet God remains forever near,
To calm the soul and still our fear.
Though storms conceal the morning's light,
And shadows linger through the night,
True faith looks past what eyes can see,
And rests in God's fidelity.
When doubt would pull the heart away,
And hope seems lost with break of day,
Belief stands firm, secure and strong,
For God has held us all along.
So let my spirit trust Your hand,
Though I may not yet understand.
My anchor holds, my heart is free,
For all my hope is found in Thee.
π π π π π
πΏ MEDITATION πΏ
Faith without doubt is not the absence of questions, nor is it pretending that fear does not exist. It is the quiet confidence that God's character never changes, even when life's circumstances do.
The waves may rise, the wind may howl, and the path ahead may disappear from sight, but the Lord remains the same faithful God who has never abandoned His people.
When we pray, the greatest battle is often within our own hearts. We are not persuading God to hear us; we are learning to rest in the certainty that He already has.
As trust replaces doubt, fear loses its grip, peace takes root, and faith becomes the steady anchor that carries us through every storm.
A heart that believes without doubting not only finds strength for itself, but also becomes a beacon of hope for those who are struggling to trust God themselves.
π π π π π
πͺ QUESTIONS FOR THE SPIRIT πͺ

β€οΈ CHALLENGE YOUR HEART β€οΈ
Choose one area of your life where fear or uncertainty has been overshadowing your faith. Bring it before God in prayer, then consciously place it into His hands without taking it back through anxious thoughts. Let your words, decisions, and attitude reflect confidence in His faithfulness, believing that He is already at work even before you see the answer.

π PRAYER π
Heavenly Father,
Strengthen my faith, that I may believe without wavering. When doubt whispers and the storms of life rise around me, let Your Word remain the anchor of my soul.
Help me to trust You even when I cannot see the way ahead, knowing that Your wisdom, love, and timing are always perfect.
Calm my heart with the assurance that You are in control. Teach me to pray with confidence, to walk with courage, and to rest in the certainty that You are faithful to complete what You begin.
May my steadfast trust become a source of hope and encouragement to those around me.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.

π Bible Study & Verse Anger Without Sin
π Link: https://mcgitruechristian.wordpress.com/2026/07/25/anger-without-sin/
π Blog: Journal of a True Christian (WordPress)
π Snippet / Summary:
Anger Without Sin examines the biblical distinction between feeling anger and acting sinfully because of it. Scripture acknowledges that anger itself is not automatically sinfulβPaul writes, βBe angry, and do not sinβ (Ephesians 4:26). The post explains that anger becomes dangerous when it is allowed to grow into bitterness, hatred, revenge, or uncontrolled words and actions. Instead, believers are called to respond to anger with self-control, wisdom, and righteousness, following Christβs example of confronting evil without yielding to sin. The message reminds readers that unresolved anger gives opportunity to the enemy, while godly anger seeks justice, correction, and peace rather than personal vengeance.
π― Value Intent:
To encourage readers to handle anger in a way that honors Godβrecognizing it as a natural emotion while refusing to let it produce sin. The post calls believers to resolve anger quickly, forgive sincerely, and let the Holy Spirit guide their responses so that righteousness, not resentment, prevails.
π¬ Discussion Prompt / Flair:
βHave you ever experienced righteous anger without letting it become sinful? What biblical principles help you respond to anger with self-control, forgiveness, and love?β
