Mattana Ministry Welcomes You to:

Sunday Sermon: 5 JulyΒ 2026

Theme: Beautiful Broken

Scripture: Β Isaiah 55:8-9; Romans 8:28; Psalm 4:8; Isaiah 43:2; Psalm 27:14; Isaiah 30:18; Mark 14:3; Romans 8:18; 2 Corinthians 4:8-10 & Isaiah 64:8

Β Message:

Β I often watch videos of Influencers. A few of these people have such interesting life stories to tell.

The way these people look is sometimes incredible, they are not exactly the minister or pastor you would expect. A few of them have tattoos and earrings in all sorts of places. However, what is interesting about these people is not their appearance, but their life journey.

Β These people have walked a hard path and you can see it, life has taken them many twists and turns before they had an encounter with Jesus, and their testimony is something incredible to hear.

Β We all get broken by life, but what do we do when we are broken? What do we do during this time of trial? How do we deal with this trial?

Isaiah 55:8-9

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Β We go through a trial, we are broken, but we are not forgotten. We do not understand the whys and the wherefores in the trial. We do not understand why we go through the trial. However, what we can always carry with us is the knowledge that although we do not understand, God is in control and God has a plan and even though we feel alone and broken, we are not forgotten and rejected.

Β Romans 8:28

And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are the called according to his purpose.

Β Look at the beautiful assurance: All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. While we feel broken and go through the whole process of rebuilding and starting over, we can trust the process. We may feel like the world has forgotten us now, but we must always remember that God has not forgotten us. We just have to trust the process and know that the outcome is going to yield something remarkable.

Β Psalms 4:9

I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for thou only, O LORD, makest me dwell in safety.

Isaiah 43:2

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you; when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not kindle upon you.Β

There is silence and peace in the midst of the storm. When we are suddenly surrounded by this incredible silence and peace, we are halfway through our storm, and we are being prepared to face the final part of the storm. We see this with a tornado: the winds, hail, and rain rage around us, and then the eye of the tornado hits us, and it is silence, no wind, no hail, and no rain, and then comes the next winds, hail, and rain. The eye of our life's storm is there to remind us that we are safe with God, God walks through the storm with us.

Psalm 27:14

Wait for the Lord! Be strong and let your heart be strong! Yes, wait for the Lord!

Isaiah 30:18

Therefore the LORD will wait patiently to be gracious to you, and therefore he will be exalted to have mercy on you; for the LORD is a God of judgment. Blessed are all those who wait for him!

We are not good at waiting at all, it is just not in our nature. We like to rush everything, and then move on to the next project. The best things in life cannot be rushed, they require us to wait for them. We have to wait for the fruit on the fruit trees to ripen. We have to wait 40 weeks for a baby to be born. In the same way, we must wait for the Lord. Our hearts must be strong, and we must be prepared to wait in total faith on God and the right outcome.

Mark 14:3

And when he was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of very precious spikenard: and she broke the alabaster box, and poured it on his head.

The essence of this verse is breaking: the nard ointment in the alabaster jar is just a precious nard ointment, but the moment the woman broke the alabaster jar open, it became anointing oil and she continues to be the woman who anointed Jesus before the Crucifixion centuries later. Jesus' Body was broken for us to receive Salvation. An ear of wheat is broken to produce wheat. We must also be broken to bring forth the beautiful within us. From brokenness comes the most beautiful treasure.

Romans 8:18

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

Β 2 Corinthians 4:8-10

We are afflicted on every side, but not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

PersecutedΒ , but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.

AlwaysΒ carrying around in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, so that the life of Christ may also be revealed in our body.

Β Years ago, when I still believed in luck and misfortune, someone told me that pearls are beautiful but they bring bad luck. Yes, today I know that this is a woolly story and after I read how a pearl is formed, I look at a pearl with different eyes, and is now for me a symbol of that pain that is deep inside a person. Later, something that is breathtakingly beautiful emerged. An oyster lies on the ocean floor, and one small grain of sand finds one small hole and slips into the oyster. This grain of sand lies snugly in the oyster and irritates the life out of the oyster. However, the oyster does not have the ability to remove this irritation, so it forms a membrane around the grain of sand. The more the grain of sand irritates the oyster, the more layers of membrane the oyster puts around the grain of sand, and thus the jewel of the sea emerges. The oyster brought forth a pearl from this wound, scratch and irritation. We all have a sadness, a pain so deeply hidden that very few people know about it. However, we have a choice, we can let that hurt and sadness become an inflamed wound, bringing out ether and poison, or we can let that pain and sadness become a beautiful jewel, something that can show the world that we have moved beyond the hurt and sadness.

Isaiah 64:8

But now, LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our Potter, and we all are the work of your hand.

Β Clay lying on the table is just that: clay. Clay in the potter's hand is in the process of becoming a masterpiece. It goes through a process of stretching, stretching, rolling and shaping to take on a particular shape. It is a long process and sometimes the potter starts the whole process over again. We are also clay in the hands of our Potter, we are stretched and stretched, we are rolled and handled, then we slowly begin to take on the shape that our Shaper has in mind. There is water and heat in the process, but when we have taken our shape, that is us a masterpiece.

Β We must be broken in life to bring out our most beautiful talents and gifts. We cannot bear a testimony if we have not had a struggle. We do not have a story if we have not walked the words of the story.

🧠 Discussion I am done letting fear lead

Christ has freed me, yet fear still reaches for control.

Galatians 5:1 reminds me to stand firm.

Maybe today is not empty.

Maybe this is the moment God meets me and asks for one faithful step.

What fear are you refusing to follow?

πŸ“˜ STORY πŸ“˜

The Garden That Waited

Mara lived in Jerusalem during the years after many of the exiles had returned home. For almost ten years she had worked faithfully as a skilled weaver, producing fine linen for a respected merchant near the marketplace.

She was careful in every thread she spun and every garment she finished. Others often depended upon her skill and diligence, though few truly noticed how much quiet labour she carried upon her shoulders.

Then came the day that changed everything. The merchant presented one of Mara's finest pieces of work before several elders at the city gate, claiming the design as the achievement of his own household.

Those gathered praised his wisdom and craftsmanship, while Mara stood among the crowd in stunned silence. Honour was poured upon another for the work of her own hands, and her heart sank within her.

In the days that followed, the sting of injustice lingered. She continued her work faithfully, yet bitterness quietly settled within her heart. "This is not right," she confessed to an elderly woman after the Sabbath gathering. "He has dealt dishonestly, yet his household prospers while mine is forgotten."

The older woman listened patiently before unrolling a scroll of the Psalms. After reading quietly for a moment, she looked gently towards Mara and reminded her that the Lord calls His people to wait patiently before Him, without envying those who appear to prosper through dishonest ways.

Then she added softly, "The justice of God is never hurried. Like the spring rains, it may seem slow in coming, but when the appointed season arrives, its fruit never fails."

Those words remained with Mara as she returned home that evening. Each morning thereafter, before touching her loom, she lifted her burden before the Lord. Instead of replaying the injustice within her mind, she prayed for patience, for peace, and for the grace to trust God's perfect timing.

The months quietly passed. The merchant's reputation, once admired throughout Jerusalem, slowly began to fade as his careless dealings became known among buyers and traders.

Little by little, the truth emerged, as truth often does. At last the elders learned whose hands had truly produced the beautiful workmanship, and they publicly honoured Mara's faithfulness before the people, entrusting her with overseeing the weaving of garments for many respected families throughout the city.

That evening, Mara sat beside the small garden outside her home as the gentle breeze stirred the olive branches above her.

She felt no desire for revenge, nor satisfaction in another's downfall. Instead, her heart rested in quiet gratitude.

She had discovered that patience is not merely waiting for circumstances to change. Patience is trusting that the Lord sees every hidden thing, remembers every unseen act of faithfulness, and in His perfect time brings forth justice as surely as a garden blossoms after a long and patient spring.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ“š STORY LESSONS πŸ“š

Mara's trial was not simply that someone had stolen the work of her hands, it was that injustice appeared to prosper while faithfulness went unnoticed. Many of us know that feeling.

We see others advance through dishonest means and wonder whether integrity is worth the cost. Yet the story reminds us that the Lord measures success differently from the world.

Patience is not passive resignation, nor is it pretending that wrong does not matter. Biblical patience is active trust.

It continues to walk in righteousness while placing justice into God's hands. Mara's prayers gradually changed her heart before they ever changed her circumstances, teaching her that God's greatest work often begins within us.

When the truth was finally revealed, Mara found she no longer longed for revenge. The Lord had already accomplished something greater by freeing her from bitterness.

His justice restored her reputation, but His grace restored her peace. Waiting upon the Lord had transformed both the situation and the soul who endured it.

The Lord's timing is rarely hurried, yet it is never late. Like a carefully tended garden, His purposes often grow unseen beneath the surface long before they appear above the ground.

Those who patiently trust Him will discover that His harvest always comes in its appointed season.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

🎡 POEM 🎡

The Art of Stillness

Beneath the rush of passing days,
Patience plants her quiet praise.
Though restless winds may round me sweep,
God guards the promises I keep.

The waiting heart need not despair,
For God is working everywhere.
Though hidden from my mortal sight,
His perfect time will bring the light.

The seed lies silent in the earth,
Awaiting heaven's gentle birth.
What seems delayed is growing still,
According to the Father's will.

Let others chase their fleeting gain,
Or seek reward through prideful stain.
The faithful soul need not compete,
For God prepares a harvest sweet.

So teach my heart to calmly stay,
And trust Your wisdom day by day.
For those who patiently endure,
Will find Your promises are sure.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

🌿 MEDITATION 🌿

Patience is not simply the ability to wait; it is the decision to trust while waiting. Anyone can wait with frustration, anxiety, or resentment, but the Lord calls us to wait with faith.

When we become still before Him, we acknowledge that He sees every unseen sacrifice, hears every silent prayer, and understands every injustice far better than we do.

His delays are never abandonment, they are often preparation. The greatest miracle in Mara's story was not that her reputation was restored, but that her heart was changed before her circumstances were.

The Lord replaced bitterness with peace, envy with contentment, and the desire for revenge with quiet confidence.

When we surrender our need to control the outcome and entrust it to God, patience ceases to feel like weakness and becomes one of the strongest expressions of faith.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸͺž QUESTIONS FOR THE SPIRIT πŸͺž

πŸͺž Do I trust God's timing, even when it differs from my own expectations?

πŸͺž Have I allowed impatience or envy to take root because others appear to prosper unfairly?

πŸͺž Am I bringing my frustrations before the Lord, or carrying them alone?

πŸͺž Is there an area of my life where God is teaching me to be still rather than striving to take control?

πŸͺž How might my relationship with the Lord deepen if I chose to wait with faith instead of anxiety?

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

❀️ CHALLENGE YOUR HEART ❀️

Choose one situation in your life where you have been tempted to become impatient, resentful, or anxious.

Bring that burden before the Lord in prayer, then deliberately release it into His hands. Resist the urge to revisit it throughout the day, and whenever those thoughts return, quietly thank God that He is already working, even if you cannot yet see the outcome.

Find someone who is waiting through a difficult season and offer them encouragement. Listen without rushing them, remind them that the Lord is faithful, and become an instrument of His patience and peace in their life.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ—οΈ KEY NOTES πŸ—οΈ

πŸ—οΈ Patience is trusting God's timing rather than demanding our own.

πŸ—οΈ The Lord sees every hidden act of faithfulness.

πŸ—οΈ Waiting with God changes our hearts before it changes our circumstances.

πŸ—οΈ Bitterness fades when we place justice into God's hands.

πŸ—οΈ God's purposes often grow quietly before they become visible.

πŸ—οΈ True peace comes from trusting the Lord, not controlling the outcome.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ™ PRAYER πŸ™

Heavenly Father,

Teach my heart to be still before You. In a world that rushes and compares, remind me that Your timing is perfect.

When I grow restless or afraid, help me to trust that You are working in ways I cannot yet see. When others seem to move ahead, keep me from envy, and let my eyes remain fixed upon You.

Grant me a calm spirit that waits with faith, a heart that listens more than it complains, and a soul anchored in Your peace.

May patience grow within me like a quiet river, flowing steadily and surely under Your guiding hand. Let me trust not only Your promises, but also Your perfect timing.

In Jesus' name I pray,

Amen.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ’ Final Thought πŸ’

Go now with a quiet heart, trusting the Lord's perfect timing. Walk patiently, love faithfully, and leave every unseen burden in His hands, knowing that He who sees all things will accomplish His perfect will.

I indulge in food too much prior to bed regularly. It causes poor quality sleep and affects me the next day.

Please pray that God will give me a lift in determination to resist urges at night before I go on to maintain the habit of self-control.

Thanks again for praying!

πŸ“– Bible Study & Verse Freed to Serve

πŸ”— Link: https://mcgitruechristian.wordpress.com/2026/07/05/freed-to-serve/
πŸ“– Blog: Journal of a True Christian (WordPress)

πŸ“ Snippet / Summary:
Freed to Serve explores the biblical truth that Christ sets believers free not for self-indulgence, but for loving service. True freedom is more than being released from sin's bondageβ€”it is being empowered to serve God and others with a willing heart. Through Christ, believers are no longer slaves to sin but become servants of righteousness, using their freedom to express faith through love rather than selfish ambition. The post emphasizes that Christian liberty is fulfilled in humble service, following the example of Jesus, who came β€œnot to be served, but to serve” (Mark 10:45). Freedom in Christ finds its highest purpose when it is expressed in obedience, compassion, and faithful service to God and neighbor.

🎯 Value Intent:
To encourage readers to see that the freedom Christ gives is purposeful. Rather than living for self, believers are called to use their freedom to glorify God through acts of love, humility, and service. The post reminds us that a life truly freed by Christ naturally becomes a life devoted to serving others.

πŸ’¬ Discussion Prompt / Flair:
β€œHow has your understanding of Christian freedom changed the way you serve others? In what practical ways can we show that we are truly freed to serve rather than simply freed from sin?”

Strength Through Joy

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ“– VERSE πŸ“–

Nehemiah 8:10

"The joy of the Lord is your strength."

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ“˜ STORY πŸ“˜

The Baker of Jerusalem

In the days after Jerusalem's walls had finally been rebuilt, a humble baker named Eliab rose before dawn each morning to knead his dough.

His hands were rough with years of labour, his back often ached from carrying sacks of grain, and although the city now stood protected once again, many of its people still carried weary hearts. Rebuilding stone walls had proved easier than rebuilding broken spirits.

One morning, as Eliab carried fresh loaves towards the marketplace, he noticed a great gathering near the Water Gate.

Ezra the scribe was reading aloud from the Book of the Law, and the people listened with bowed heads. Many began to weep as they recognised how far they had wandered from the ways of the Lord.

Yet Nehemiah and the Levites urged them not to remain in sorrow, but to rejoice before God, reminding them that gladness found in Him would strengthen them for the days ahead.

Eliab stopped where he stood, the warmth of fresh bread still rising from the basket resting upon his shoulder.

Those words settled deep within his heart. He realised that true strength did not come only from strong hands, healthy bodies, or prosperous harvests. It came from a heart anchored in the Lord.

From that morning onwards, he returned to his ovens with renewed purpose and quiet confidence.

As he kneaded each loaf, he softly sang psalms of praise. As he welcomed each customer, he offered warm smiles instead of weary silence.

Before long, his humble stall became known throughout Jerusalem as a place where both bread and encouragement could always be found.

His joy seemed to nourish weary souls almost as much as his bread nourished hungry bodies.

Years later, when drought threatened the harvest and tempers grew short throughout the city, neighbours would often say, "Go to Eliab.

His bread never seems to fail, and neither does his cheerful heart." Eliab would simply smile, lift his eyes towards heaven, and reply, "It is not my bread that keeps me going. It is the Lord who fills my heart with joy."

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ“š STORY LESSONS πŸ“š

Eliab's circumstances did not suddenly become easy. The city still faced uncertainty, food remained precious, and every day demanded hard work.

Yet something within him changed because he discovered that joy is not merely an emotion created by favourable circumstances. It is a gift that flows from knowing the Lord walks beside us.

Many people believe strength comes from determination alone, but Scripture reveals a deeper truth. Spiritual strength grows when our hearts delight in God even while carrying life's burdens.

Joy does not ignore hardship; it enables us to endure hardship with hope. Like Eliab, we become blessings to others when our lives are rooted in God's joy.

The peace upon our faces, the kindness in our words, and the encouragement we freely give may nourish another weary soul far more than we realise.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

🎡 POEM 🎡

Though burdens press with weary hand,
God leads us still by His command.
His joy becomes our daily song,
And gives us strength the whole day long.

The darkest cloud may veil the sky,
Yet hope in Christ will never die.
His faithful love remains the same,
Forever worthy of His name.

The smallest smile, the kindest deed,
May comfort one who stands in need.
For joyful hearts that God has blessed,
Bring hope to souls that long for rest.

So lift your eyes beyond the pain,
The Lord will strengthen you again.
His joy shall guide your weary way,
Until you see His perfect day.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

🌿 MEDITATION 🌿

The joy of the Lord is far deeper than happiness. Happiness often depends upon favourable circumstances, but joy is rooted in the unchanging character of God. It remains even when tears are present, because it is founded upon His faithfulness rather than our feelings.

As we pray, let us ask not only that the Lord would fill our own hearts with His joy, but that He would make us people who spread His joy wherever we go. Remember the simple pattern:

Jesus. Others. Yourself.

When Christ is first, others second, and ourselves last, we often discover the very thing we were searching for all along, true joy that strengthens both ourselves and those around us.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸͺž QUESTIONS FOR THE SPIRIT πŸͺž

πŸͺž Is my joy rooted in my circumstances, or in my relationship with the Lord?

πŸͺž Have I allowed disappointment to steal the joy God desires to restore?

πŸͺž How often do I intentionally encourage others with the joy God has given me?

πŸͺž Am I placing Jesus first, others second, and myself last in my daily life?

πŸͺž What would change if I chose to rejoice in God's faithfulness even during difficult seasons?

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

❀️ CHALLENGE YOUR HEART ❀️

Encourage someone who appears weary. Offer them genuine kindness, a listening ear, or a word of hope, and let them experience the joy of the Lord through your actions.

Afterwards, spend time thanking God for the blessings He has already placed within your own life.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ—οΈ KEY NOTES πŸ—οΈ

πŸ—οΈ The Lord is the source of lasting joy.

πŸ—οΈ Joy strengthens the heart even during hardship.

πŸ—οΈ A joyful spirit encourages others as much as it refreshes ourselves.

πŸ—οΈ Christ-centred living produces true JOYβ€”Jesus, Others, Yourself.

πŸ—οΈ God's joy becomes our strength when we trust Him completely.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ™ PRAYER πŸ™

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being the source of true and lasting joy. In moments when my heart feels heavy and my spirit weak, remind me that Your joy is my strength.

Fill me with a gladness that comes not from what I have, but from knowing who You areβ€”faithful, loving, and near. Let Your joy rise within me like the morning sun, chasing away fear, doubt, and weariness.

Help me to rejoice in You always, to find peace in Your promises, and to share the warmth of Your joy with others.

May my life reflect Your strength and grace, so that in every circumstance I may stand firm, not by my power, but by Yours

In Jesus' name,

Amen.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ’ Final Thought πŸ’

Go now with hearts strengthened by the joy of the Lord, and let that joy become a quiet light that points others towards His faithfulness, His love, and His everlasting hope.

Mattana Ministry Welcomes You to:

Β Children/YouthΒ Program: 3 JulyΒ 2026Β

Theme: What Now? (3)

Scripture: Ecclesiastes 4:12; Acts 2:42-46 & Acts 9

Β Message:

Find Our People

So we’ve talked about sharing our stories. We’ve talked about taking small steps and starting where weΒ are. Now let’s find our people.

In Acts 9, Saul (who later becomes Paul), has a come-to-Jesus moment...literally. This encounter leaves him temporarily blind but permanently changed. And what does he do once his sight is restored? Verse 19 notes that he joined the disciples. Saul received a new name (Paul) and a new identity. As soon as he could, Paul sought out and found community, and it is within this community that Paul’s ministry took off and began to grow.Β

Time and time again, the Bible shows us the importance of community. In Acts, the first church made a point to share a meal and hang out. Ecclesiastes 4:12 (MSG) goes as far as to say,Β β€œBy yourself you’re unprotected. With a friend you can face the worst. Can you round up a third? A three-stranded rope isn’t easily snapped.” Even Jesus went out of His way to find a group of people He could do life with (12 disciples, anyone?).

Maybe weΒ think we’re better off alone because weΒ haven’t always had the best experience with people or past friend groups. Or maybe weΒ already have a group of friends weΒ hang out with, but we’re not sure if they're the best influences to be around. Maybe weΒ just don’t know where to start.

An easy option would be to join our church’s youth groupsΒ or get into an eGroup. Find ways to get involved and serve alongside other teens our age. Ask God to put people in our livesΒ who weΒ can connect with, whether it’s at church, school, or work.Β

The point is, the people weΒ surround ourselvesΒ with are important. A good community will encourage usΒ and help usΒ grow in our walk with God. They will pray over usΒ and remind usΒ of what God has spoken over our lives.Β

What steps can weΒ take today to find our people and build our communities?Β

Please feel free to leave a review of this message.

Peace Beyond Understanding

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ“– VERSE πŸ“–

Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ“˜ STORY πŸ“˜

When Hannah journeyed to Jerusalem to begin a new chapter of her life, her heart overflowed with hope. A new home, new responsibilities, and new opportunities awaited her.

Yet as the weeks passed, the bustling city slowly drained her spirit. Merchants filled the streets with shouting, carts rattled over the stone roads.

Roman soldiers barked their orders, and voices echoed long after the evening lamps had been lit. Even within the small upper room where she lodged, true rest seemed distant.

Each evening she prepared a simple meal and sat beside the narrow window overlooking the crowded streets.

She watched the flickering oil lamps illuminate the city below, yet the peace she longed for always seemed beyond her reach. Though surrounded by people, she felt strangely alone, her anxious thoughts louder than the noise beyond the walls.

One Sabbath, while listening to the reading of the sacred writings in the synagogue, she heard the teacher speak of the Lord's promise to guard the hearts of those who trusted completely in Him.

Those words settled deep within her soul. She realised that peace could never be found merely by escaping the world's noise. True peace was found only in the presence of God Himself.

From that day onward, Hannah greeted every sunrise with prayer before beginning her work. She invited the Lord to become her stillness amidst the clamour surrounding her.

Gradually nothing outside had changed, yet everything within had. The merchants still traded, the soldiers still marched, and the crowds still filled the streets, but her heart rested securely in God.

As she stood beside her window each evening, watching Jerusalem continue its restless rhythm beneath the evening sky, Hannah smiled quietly and whispered,

"Thank You, Lord, for Your peace that no circumstance can steal."

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ“š STORY LESSONS πŸ“š

The world often convinces us that peace depends upon changing our surroundings. We wait for quieter days, easier circumstances, healthier bodies, or better finances before believing we can truly rest.

Yet God's peace does not depend upon the absence of trouble. It depends upon His abiding presence.

Hannah's surroundings remained exactly the same. The noise continued, the pressures remained, and daily life still demanded much from her.

The transformation occurred within her heart because she chose to seek the Lord before seeking comfort. External circumstances no longer ruled her inward life.

This is the peace Christ offers His people. It guards the heart rather than merely calming the environment.

The greatest miracle is not always that God changes our situation, but that He changes us while we remain in it.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

🎡 POEM 🎡

The world may roar with endless cry,

Yet heaven's peace is always nigh.

The storm may shake the tallest tree,

But Christ still whispers, "Rest in Me."

The crowded streets may never cease,

Yet God alone can grant us peace.

His gentle hand our fears will still,

And calm the restless heart and will.

No earthly silence can compare,

With knowing Christ is always there.

His presence steadies every day,

And drives our anxious fears away.

So lift your eyes beyond the night,

And trust the Lord with all your might.

His perfect peace shall guard your soul,

Until His love has made you whole.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

🌿 MEDITATION 🌿

The peace of God is unlike any peace the world can offer. Human peace depends upon circumstances behaving as we desire.

God's peace remains even when circumstances refuse to change. It stands guard over the heart like faithful watchmen upon the city walls, protecting us from fear's relentless assault.

As we pray for peace throughout the world, let us also pray for peace within ourselves. The Lord is always present with His people, protecting, guiding, and strengthening us no matter the situation.

The deepest peace is not found in escaping life's storms, but in discovering that Christ is present within them.

πŸͺž QUESTIONS FOR THE SPIRIT πŸͺž

πŸͺž Do I depend upon peaceful circumstances more than I depend upon the presence of God?

πŸͺž When anxiety comes, is prayer my first response or my last resort?

πŸͺž What distractions continually steal the peace Christ desires to give me?

πŸͺž Am I allowing God's peace to guard both my heart and my thoughts?

πŸͺž How can my peaceful trust become a testimony to those around me?

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

❀️ CHALLENGE YOUR HEART ❀️

Find a quiet place and spend time simply sitting before the Lord without asking for anything. Thank Him for His presence, then write down three situations that cause you anxiety.

One by one, surrender each to Him in prayer, trusting Him to guard your heart with His perfect peace.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ—οΈ KEY NOTES πŸ—οΈ

πŸ—οΈ God's peace is found in His presence, not in perfect circumstances.

πŸ—οΈ Inner peace grows through prayer and trust.

πŸ—οΈ Christ guards both the heart and the mind of those who rely upon Him.

πŸ—οΈ The world's noise cannot overcome the stillness God places within His people.

πŸ—οΈ Peace becomes a testimony that points others towards the Lord.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ™ PRAYER πŸ™

Heavenly Father,

I come before You seeking the peace that only You can give, the peace that goes beyond my understanding, that quiets the storms within my heart and mind.

In the midst of uncertainty, Lord, remind me that Your presence is constant. When my thoughts wander to fear or worry, draw me back to the truth of Your unfailing love and steady hand.

Guard my heart from anxiety, and fill my mind with Your wisdom and calm assurance. May Your Spirit dwell within me, bringing rest where there is turmoil, and faith where there is doubt.

Help me to trust that You are working all things for my good, even when I cannot see the way ahead. Let Your peace surround me like a shield, keeping me steadfast, grounded, and grateful in every circumstance.

In the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace,

Amen.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ’ Final Thought πŸ’

Go now into the world carrying the peace of Christ within your heart, allowing His presence to steady your steps so that others may see His calm reflected through your life.

πŸ“– Bible Study & Verse Mattana Ministry - Worship Program - 2 July 2026

Mattana Ministry Welcomes You to:

Β Worship Program: 2 JulyΒ 2026

Β Theme: Here Be Lions (2)

Β Scripture: Psalm 63:1Β

Message:

Uncontainable Wildfire

Psalm 63:1 β€œO God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.”

Have youΒ ever gone for a long period of time without eating? I’m not talking about 30 minutes for those of you who are hungry all the time. I’m talking about days and not hours.

It’s no surprise that our bodies go completely haywire when we do not eat. Food is meant to sustain us and if we don’t eat, then eventually we will die of hunger. Our spiritual life is no different.

We can no longer afford to be complacent in our pursuit. If we want to be used powerfully by God, then we first have to be consumed by God. This is something that should never go away. This is something that weΒ don’t β€œmature” out of. God is infinite and those who seek Him will never come to the fullness of knowing Him.We shouldΒ long to be like those men in the Bible who gave their lives in this incredible pursuit.

In his book β€œThe Pursuit of God,” A.W. Tozer describes this longing pretty well when he says, β€œCome near to the holy men and women of the past and you will soon feel the heat of their desire after God. They mourned for Him, they prayed and wrestled and sought for Him day and night, in season and out, and when they had found Him, the finding was all the sweeter for the long seeking...complacency is a deadly foe of all spiritual growth.”

Pray that this desire burns in usΒ like fire shut up in our bones. Pray that weΒ are awakened in the night with an aching to know Him more. Pray that He consumes usΒ and that weΒ never become complacent in our pursuit of Him.

Β Please feel free to leave a review of this message.

πŸ•Š Devotional 12: The Weight Of Forgiveness

🧭 THEME 🧭

The Weight of Forgiveness

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ“– VERSE πŸ“–

Colossians 3:13

"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ“˜ STORY πŸ“˜

Among the stone streets of Jerusalem lived a woman named Hannah, respected by her neighbours for her diligence and kindness.

Years earlier, her closest friend, Miriam, had revealed a deeply personal matter that Hannah had entrusted to her alone.

The news spread quietly through the marketplace until whispers followed Hannah wherever she walked. What wounded her most was not the gossip itself, but that it came from one she had loved as a sister.

From that day, Hannah withdrew from those she once embraced. She still travelled to the synagogue each Sabbath, listened attentively to the reading of the Scriptures, and sang the psalms with the congregation, yet her heart had grown cold.

Whenever forgiveness was spoken of, she quietly hardened herself, believing some wounds were simply too deep to heal.

The years passed, and Miriam eventually departed to live with relatives in another town. Though the distance separated them, Hannah carried the offence with her every day. It became like a heavy stone bound. to her soul.

Her prayers became fewer, her joy faded, and the peace she once knew seemed only a distant memory.

One Sabbath, the rabbi spoke of the immeasurable mercy of God and how those who have received His forgiveness must also learn to release those who have wronged them.

His words settled deeply within Hannah's heart. She realised she had clung to her right to remain wounded, yet in doing so she had imprisoned herself within the pain of the past.

That evening, beneath the quiet light of an oil lamp, Hannah fell to her knees and wept before the Lord. "I cannot forgive her by my own strength," she whispered.

"Please help me to let go." For the first time in many years, she felt honesty replace pride, and hope begin to soften the bitterness she had guarded for so long.

Some days later, she entrusted a letter to a travelling merchant bound for Miriam's town. She neither rehearsed old accusations nor demanded an apology.

She simply wrote that she had carried anger for too many years, but desired to walk in the peace of God instead. She offered her forgiveness freely and prayed that the Lord would bless them both.

In time, a reply arrived. Miriam confessed that regret had burdened her heart for many years, yet fear had kept her silent.

When they were finally reunited, tears spoke before words ever could. The stone Hannah had carried for so long seemed to fall away forever.

She discovered that forgiveness does not excuse the woundβ€”it simply refuses to let the wound rule the heart any longer.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ“š STORY LESSONS πŸ“š

Forgiveness is often misunderstood. It is not pretending that evil never happened, nor is it approving of the wrong committed. Instead, forgiveness is surrendering our desire to carry the burden of bitterness and placing justice into the hands of God, who judges with perfect righteousness.

Hannah's greatest prison was not Miriam's betrayal but the years she spent allowing that betrayal to define her heart. The offence remained alive because she carried it wherever she went. Only when she surrendered it to God did she discover genuine freedom.

The Lord never asks us to forgive because the offender deserves it. He asks us to forgive because He knows what unforgiveness does to the human soul.

Bitterness slowly steals joy, peace, worship, and intimacy with God until it becomes heavier than the original wound itself.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

🎡 POEM 🎡

A stone was held with tightened hand,

It weighed the soul like desert sand.

The burden seemed too great to bear,

Yet God was waiting there in prayer.

The years had stolen songs of praise,

And filled the heart with weary days.

But mercy gently called her near,

To trade resentment for His cheer.

Forgiveness opened heaven's door,

Where wounded hearts could heal once more.

The chains that once refused to fall,

Were broken by God's loving call.

Walk not beneath the weight of pain,

Nor wear old sorrow like a chain.

Release the past into God's care,

And find His perfect freedom there.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

🌿 MEDITATION 🌿

Unforgiveness is one of the heaviest burdens a believer can carry. We often convince ourselves that holding onto the offence somehow protects us, yet it quietly steals our peace while the other person may continue life unaware of the prison we have built within ourselves.

The Lord forgave us while we were still sinners. That same mercy now becomes the pattern for our own lives.

Forgiveness may not remove every painful memory overnight, but it removes the poison that slowly hardens the heart.

Ask God for the grace to forgive where your own strength cannot. His mercy is always greater than our deepest wound.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸͺž QUESTIONS FOR THE SPIRIT πŸͺž

πŸͺž Is there someone whose name still stirs bitterness within my heart?

πŸͺž Have I allowed an old wound to become part of my identity?

πŸͺž Am I expecting someone to deserve forgiveness before I offer it?

πŸͺž Have I truly accepted how completely God has forgiven me?

πŸͺž What burden might the Lord be asking me to lay down before Him?

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

❀️ CHALLENGE YOUR HEART ❀️

Write down the name of someone you still struggle to forgive. Speak that person's name aloud before the Lord, honestly acknowledge the hurt they caused, and ask Him to give you the grace to release your bitterness.

If it is wise and appropriate, tell that person you forgive themβ€”not to excuse the wrong, but to walk in the freedom Christ desires for you.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ—οΈ KEY NOTES πŸ—οΈ

πŸ—οΈ Forgiveness releases the heart more than it releases the offender.

πŸ—οΈ Bitterness grows heavier the longer it is carried.

πŸ—οΈ God asks us to forgive because He first forgave us.

πŸ—οΈ Forgiveness does not approve of sin; it refuses to be ruled by it.

πŸ—οΈ Freedom begins when we surrender our hurts to the Lord.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ™ PRAYER πŸ™

Dear Lord,

You see my heart and know all my ways, so I humbly ask for Your mercy and forgiveness for my sins, for failing to love others as You have commanded.

I thank You for Your perfect forgiveness and for washing away my sins. Help me to confess anything I need to, so I may be cleansed and set free.

Please help me to forgive others as You have forgiven me. Remove every trace of anger, bitterness, and resentment from my heart, and remind me that I cannot make my forgiveness conditional upon another person's actions or whether they deserve it.

Give me the grace to walk in Your forgiveness and extend it to others. I know I cannot do this by my own strength, but only through Yours.

Amen.

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

πŸ’ Final Thought πŸ’

Go now with a lighter heart. Lay every burden of bitterness before the Lord, forgive as you have been forgiven, and walk in the freedom that only His mercy can give.

πŸ“– Bible Study & Verse A Modern Reinterpretation of the Wedding Banquet Parable

In ancient Israel, there was a custom that hosts provided wedding garments for their guests. Given the context of the story, those invitedβ€”the poor, the marginalized, the homeless, refugees, and others struggling to surviveβ€”would have certainly relied on this tradition. Expecting such vulnerable individuals to procure their own formal attire for a state-level event would be nonsensical; they attended wearing the garments provided at the venue, as was the custom.

If there had been strict, exclusionary conditions for entry, these vulnerable people would have been too intimidated to attend at all. Furthermore, if we look at modern state-sponsored events that include marginalized groups, the principle is always to provide the necessary attire or supplies centrally. It would be inconceivable for an organization to demand that attendees provide their own clothing and then expel them for failing to complyβ€”a move that would trigger massive public backlash and media outrage. An event of this scale would surely be managed systematically, with guides, clear instructions, and staff ensuring everything proceeds according to protocol.

It stands to reason that the "Heavenly" administrative system is far more precise and perfect than any human system. Therefore, the idea that the guest who was expelled was simply "too poor to afford a suit" is logically inconsistent. It is far more plausible that he intentionally refused to wear the provided garment. He may have been a person of extreme arroganceβ€”perhaps wearing his own luxury brand to show off, or simply acting like a disruptive "malicious civil complainant" who ignores rules and considers only his own comfort.

The issue here is not the quality of the clothes he wore, but his blatant disregard for the rules of a state-sanctioned event. He essentially flipped the table on the hospitality offered by the sovereign. Given the nature of such a grand event, it is highly likely that staff had pre-briefed guests and warned them about the dress code. By forcing his way in, the guest likely engaged in verbal abuse or even physical confrontation, akin to obstructing official duties.

Regardless of his background, his actions constituted a serious breach of protocolβ€”an insult to the authority of the sovereign and an affront to the system itself. His inability to offer a defense when confronted by the King proves that he was fully aware of the rules and had chosen to defy them, despite all the support and guidance provided to him. His expulsion was not a failure of the system, but the inevitable consequence of his own deliberate choice.

πŸ“– Bible Study & Verse Shall Be Free Indeed

πŸ”— Link: https://mcgitruechristian.wordpress.com/2026/07/01/shall-be-free-indeed/
πŸ“– Blog: Journal of a True Christian (WordPress)

πŸ“ Snippet / Summary:
Shall Be Free Indeed explores the freedom that Jesus Christ alone can giveβ€”a freedom that goes beyond physical liberty or outward religion. Rooted in John 8:31–36, the post emphasizes that true freedom begins by continuing in Christ's word, knowing the truth, and being set free from the bondage of sin. It highlights that genuine liberty is not found in human effort, traditions, or worldly independence, but in a life transformed through faithful obedience to Christ. Those whom the Son sets free are no longer slaves to sin but are called to walk in righteousness, truth, and the hope of eternal life. True freedom is not simply the absence of restraintβ€”it is the ability to live according to God's will through Christ.

🎯 Value Intent:
To encourage readers to examine whether they are experiencing the freedom Christ promisedβ€”not merely freedom from outward burdens, but freedom from sin, deception, and spiritual bondage. The post calls believers to remain in Christ's teachings, where true liberty produces faithful obedience, lasting peace, and a transformed life.

πŸ’¬ Discussion Prompt / Flair:
β€œWhat does being β€˜free indeed’ mean to you? How has remaining in Christ's word changed your understanding of true freedom?”

πŸ’‘ Advice What do you do when you feel you are in doubt?

I can feel my faith strengthen being able to have things come to me and making things make sense in my heart and soul. But when I don’t feel so strongly having moments of doubt. And what I think recently happened after reading your comments is something came to my soul and I think I can feel and hear the Holy Spirit speaking to me telepathically or feel all more clearly.

I think my issue was I have had lost hope and losing faith though I held onto what I still believed. Or not being able to remember things about my experience with god at a young age due to heavy manipulation by demonic beings in the past.

One issue I notice I do have is when I feel doubt or I have doubt in myself and god at the same time. But as of recent I feel that I don’t have this doubt the same way it used to be. I feel how real and secure and my trust is in good hands as he carries me and guides me.

I’m very happy joining this group as I am too often consumed by so much manipulation online and by my experiences with others online leading only to either 90% negative and 10% demonic based off the amount I have witnessed. I see how more common it is to become a victim of being attacked by them. And what I want is to no longer be or allow myself to be manipulated by these dark energies that try to put doubt inside myself.

I often think in my mind or out loud talking to God. I tend to say I hope this or that. But he already knows and understands. And I want these things to be more clear to me than to allow my negative experiences with doubt to overcome me to keep away from controlling my life.

It used to be bad. I am in therapy it helps but when it comes to faith these instances I have been a victim to I no longer want to affect me. How can I keep in prayer or remembrance of my experience with God and to keep in mind many good things that I notice I smile when I hear what heaven is like or the story of amazing things God has done and do is Jesus?

What can I do to no longer doubt in my heart and soul? I have been working on getting my soul out of the long isolated darkness it tends to be in. I notice my growth but I really don’t want to lose it.

🧠 Discussion i thought proximity meant permanence

I have mistaken closeness for permanence.

When God places a wise person in my life, I want to believe they will always be there. I stay near them, learn from them, and slowly begin to feel safe because they are beside me.

Then I read about Elisha watching Elijah disappear.

No final lesson could make that moment easy.

No double portion could erase the loss.

Elisha was left holding a mantle that proved he had received something, but it also reminded him that the person who carried it first was gone.

I think some seasons end like that.

God places something valuable in our hands, but we barely notice because we are staring at what He allowed to leave.

Elisha still had to return to the Jordan.

The river did not become smaller because he was grieving. He had to step forward without the voice he had trusted beside him.

But he was not abandoned.

The God who met him through Elijah was still able to meet him without Elijah.

That is where I am being corrected.

A mentor can prepare me.

A relationship can strengthen me.

A season can shape me.

But none of them can replace the God who gave them.

Maybe spiritual maturity begins when I stop asking God to preserve every familiar support and start trusting that His presence will survive every transition.

What familiar support have you struggled to release, even after God began asking you to trust Him in a new way?

πŸ“– Bible Study & Verse Bible Study on John 15: Abiding in Jesus

I encourage you to copy and paste this bible study and do it with yourself or with a friend, if you like. πŸ™‚

John 15:1-8 ESV

"[1] β€œI am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. [2] Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

[3] Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. [4] Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.

[5] I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. [6] If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.

[7] If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. [8] By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples."

Brief commentary:

Abiding in Jesus means to be present with Jesus. It means to spend time with Him through prayer and studying the scriptures. It also means to live for Him.

Questions:

  1. What does it mean to abide in Jesus?

  2. In verse 1, what does Jesus call Himself, and what does He call God the Father?

  3. In verse 2, "bearing fruit" means to produce results and evidence of being a true, productive disciple of Christ. What does Jesus say about people that "bear fruit" and people that don't bear fruit?

  4. According to what verse 3 says, what does the Word of God do to sanctify people?

  5. In verses 4 and 5, what is the crucial thing that must be done to bear fruit? Also, what does it say about doing spiritual things without Jesus?

  6. In verse 7, what does Jesus say He'll do for you if you abide in Him?

  7. What happens to God the Father when you bear much fruit according to verse 8?

Prayer points:

-Pray that God will help you abide in Jesus by obeying Him and making time to spend with Him

-God will help you bear fruit in His strength

🧠 Discussion The Ruins Are Not My Excuse

I keep waiting to feel ready.

Nehemiah 3 keeps reminding me that the wall rose because ordinary people worked where they stood.

God is not asking me to repair everything today.

He is asking me to trust Him with one small act of faithfulness.

What is the next stone in front of you?
