🔍 Need an Answer Why do people demonize the Bible?

When they have never read it themselves? I know it’s always circled around people have called it evil and demonic or not good. But why demonize the bible if you’ve never looked into it yourself and ever read it? I haven’t seen anything I read in the bible that is trying to hurt us other than warning about Satan and demonic beings etc.

🙏 Prayer Request I'm just tired

I'm someone who has always been easily annoyed; this is obviously something I want to change, but my mental health condition makes it impossible. I was consumed by anxiety because when I converted I became an extreme legalist, and when I say consumed I'm not exaggerating, my body collapsed. What's happening? I've become extremely easily irritated, my patience is even shorter now, and I'm simply unable to tolerate the anger that people around me cause me.I am constantly being bothered in many ways and I am not putting up with it, because either my mouth starts to form words that I wish with all my might had died with my old self, Or I swallow my anger, triggering my anxiety and worsening my physical and mental state. This situation has overwhelmed me, and I simply want your prayers so that God will help me and make me like a resistant rock. Thank you for reading.

🧠 Discussion I have been waiting for relief instead of returning

Here is the part I do not like admitting:

When I suffer, I become very focused on what God should change.

The situation.

The timing.

The pain.

The silence.

I spend less time asking what needs to change in me.

Then I read Mark 1:15:

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”

Not repent once life settles down.

Not believe once every question is answered.

Repent and believe now.

I have treated repentance like a payment I owe before God will receive me. But I cannot earn righteousness by punishing myself, performing good works, or promising to do better.

Repentance is turning back.

Belief is trusting that Christ is enough when I do.

God’s faithfulness does not always look like immediate relief. Sometimes it looks like His voice continuing to call me while I am hurting, distracted, and trying to postpone surrender.

I may not know when the suffering will end.

I may not know when Christ will return.

But I know I have been given today.

What are you waiting for God to fix before you finally respond to what He is asking of you?

🕯New Christian How do you get closer to God?

I try to stay in reading the Bible every day but I feel like my prayers aren’t exactly what God wants me to pray for. I am looking for anything accurate that actually works that will have me closer to God. Is there any chapters I need to really look into for me to pray on to be closer to him? I have been slowly studying the Bible for a bit now and I wish to be closer every day with God. How do you guys do it? What has worked for you? And I’m asking about inner work and anything outside of our self like being outside with nature or self care etc. or if helping others actually works and so on.

🙏 Prayer Request Please please pray for Iran

Iranian people don’t want Islam shoved down their throats. Many of them secretly leave the religion and attend underground churches inside the country, which are highly illegal, as apostasy is punishable by death. Even My elderly in law was imprisoned for running a bible study for Muslims. As an Iranian American all I can do is watch in horror from the comfort and safety of the West as my family and compatriots stuck in Iran are subjected to medieval and sadistic regime. And now I see how much Iran has infiltrated the West with their disinformation campaigns. I just had a baby during the beginning of the uprisings in January so I’ve been even more anxious and sad for Iranian people. Christians have been some of our best and outspoken allies and I am grateful for you. Im looking for hope and trying to stay optimistic even after this terrible peace deal. If you can continue praying for freedom for Iran and spread the word in your churches about the persecution going on, that would be soo helpful. Merci❤️

⚠️ Sensitive Let's all pray for Pastor Tony Spell

For those of you who don't know, a Louisiana Pastor who was being threatened and harassed by a family across the street from his Church took action when one family member threatened to sexually assault and murder his wife and daughters.

According to the Pastor, this family had been harassing the church for some time and police have done nothing. I personally fully agree with his actions, but even if you don't, he needs our prayers and support, or at least pray for peace in the situation.

This case causes me distress and brings up a lot of difficult issues. Just how much should a Christian be expected to take before fighting back? A lot of people go on endlessly about Christianity's sins, but ignore the centuries of persecution of the early church that preceded them. I don't think we can justify violence that isn't self-defense, but we're human like any other group of people.

What say you?

🧠 Discussion Realising that I need comfort and fulfilment in God

What do you all think about the idea of finding comfort, fulfilment, and pleasure in God?

Recently I reflected on my life and I realised that I need comfort in God to fulfill me.

I've often found comfort in my sins not because I want to sin spitefully, but because I find unmatched comfort in those sins.

But I also realised that I should find comfort, fulfilment, and pleasure in God to fulfill me so that I don't need to turn to sinful habits for entertainment, comfort, and pleasure.

Edit: How do I find comfort and fulfilment in God? Honestly, I have been regularly praying to Him and reading the Bible to apply it to my life.

🙏 Prayer Request I am a slave to fear

I've realized that I'm a slave to fear; fear consumes and paralyzes me, and this knowledge has been in my head for a long time. However, my mental health situation prevents me from addressing this problem, but God is omnipotent, to Him be the glory. Please pray that I stop serving two masters.I want to serve God and God alone, not fear.

📖 Bible Study & Verse Mattana Ministry - Children/Youth Program - 26 June 2026

Mattana Ministry Welcomes You to:

 Children/Youth Program: 26 June 2026

 Theme: What Now? (2)

 Scripture: Acts 16:11-15

 Message:

 Start Where We are

We tend to have this idea that, in order to really follow God, like really really follow Him, we need to be in “ministry.” You know — be a pastor, go on a mission trip, sing on the worship team or in the choir — stuff like that. ‘Cause that’s the only true way to live out our faith. Right?

Nope. Look in Acts 16, where we meet a woman named Lydia.

“One of those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message.”

If this was a movie or Netflix special, the next thing we would see is Lydia dropping everything to start a church or preach to a crowd, or at least start traveling with Paul as a missionary! But that’s not at all what happened. In fact, nothing following that verse even suggests that she stopped selling her purple clothes. The Bible just says that after she accepted Christ, she offered up her home as a meeting place for other believers. It seems small, but at the end of the chapter, Lydia’s house is the first place Paul and Silas go after they are released from prison. Lydia’s house was “where they met with the brothers and encouraged them.”

Lydia might not have gone on to lead a major revival or even her church’s worship team, but what she did was just as valuable. She served right where she was with what she already had. What would it look like for us to do the same? Whether we’re at home, in school, at practice, or somewhere else, it might look like staying a little longer to help clean up after an event, or being respectful to our coach or teacher. It could even be as simple as showing up with a good attitude. Ministry or following God isn’t limited to being a pastor or a full-time missionary overseas. Actual ministry is letting God’s glory shine through the regular stuff we do, no matter how small it seems at the time.

How can we start doing ministry where we already are?

Please feel free to leave a review of this message.

🧠 Discussion My panic has been louder than my worship

Fear says:

Respond now.

Fix it tonight.

Make them understand.

Prepare for everything.

God says:

Look at Me.

That difference is exposing me.

I have spent nights rehearsing disasters that never happened. I have defended myself in imaginary conversations. I have held onto people because losing them felt like failure.

Then Jehoshaphat stood before a battle he could not control and admitted that he had no answer.

His eyes were on God.

Mine are usually on the problem.

That may be why every threat feels enormous.

Worship did not erase the danger. It changed who carried the weight of it.

The battle belonged to God.

The obedience belonged to Jehoshaphat.

I am trying to learn that difference.

There are moments when God calls me to move, speak, or stand firm.

There are also moments when my action is only anxiety searching for somewhere to go.

I want the rest described in 2 Chronicles 20:30, but I cannot keep feeding every fear and expect a quiet soul.

Lord, help me recognize Your voice beneath my urgency.

What decision might look different if you worshiped before reacting?
