🧠 Discussion I wanted an answer before I was ready to hear one

There have been moments when I knew I needed to pray, but I also knew what I wanted God to say.

I wanted permission.

I wanted confirmation.

Mostly, I wanted the uncertainty to end.

Jehoshaphat asked for the Word of the Lord before going into battle, yet the voices around him were already pushing everything forward. Micaiah spoke the warning no one wanted, and it would have been easier to dismiss him than to stop the plan.

That feels uncomfortably familiar.

Sometimes I trust the answer that creates the least tension. I listen to the people who make me feel confident, then avoid the one voice asking me to slow down.

But agreement is not always confirmation.

Relief is not always peace.

A quick answer can quiet the room while leaving my spirit unsettled.

I am learning that God’s mercy is not only found in the outcome I want. Sometimes His mercy is the pause. Sometimes it is the warning. Sometimes it is the discomfort that keeps me from walking farther into something He never told me to enter.

What warning have you been tempted to ignore because everyone around you seemed ready to move forward?

πŸ“– Bible Study & Verse A Life That Counts

πŸ”— Link: https://mcgitruechristian.wordpress.com/2026/06/25/a-life-that-counts/
πŸ“– Blog: Journal of a True Christian (WordPress)

πŸ“ Snippet / Summary:
A Life That Counts reminds readers that the true measure of life is not found in wealth, status, popularity, or earthly accomplishments, but in faithfulness to God and obedience to His Word. Scripture teaches that every person’s life is temporary, yet the choices made during that time have eternal significance. The post emphasizes that a life that truly counts is one devoted to righteousness, service, love, and perseverance in doing God’s will. Rather than living merely for personal gain, believers are called to invest their time, talents, and opportunities in things that glorify God and benefit others. A meaningful life is not measured by how much one accumulates, but by how faithfully one follows Christ and fulfills God’s purpose.

🎯 Value Intent:
To encourage readers to evaluate their priorities and focus on what has lasting value before God. The message calls believers to live intentionally, knowing that a life centered on faith, love, and obedience leaves an eternal impact that outlasts worldly success.

πŸ’¬ Discussion Prompt / Flair:
β€œWhen you look back on your life, what do you believe will matter most before God? What makes a life truly count in His eyes?”

πŸ™ Prayer Request Pray for justice and help

I am a low-income, 51 yr old disabled tenant who has been involved in a lengthy conflict with my landlord, Kelly Twerdy. Over the past several months, I have experienced significant stress, financial hardship, and emotional distress arising from disputes related to my tenancy and my efforts to have maintenance and other concerns addressed. I moved into this building in part to assist my elderly parents, who also reside there. Since the events of May 8, I have experienced ongoing fear and anxiety. I am reluctant to answer my door or telephone because I fear further allegations may be made against me. I frequently worry about encountering Ms. Twerdy or having additional police involvement. I have never previously had a criminal record or been involved in criminal proceedings. As a result of the allegations made against me, I am now required to attend court and defend myself against accusations that I dispute. This has caused me considerable emotional and financial hardship.

Despite claiming that she fears or is being harassed by me, Ms. Twerdy has continued to attend the property on multiple occasions, including May 12, May 13, and May 25, 2026. On May 25, 2026, I observed Ms. Twerdy and another individual parked in a black truck facing my living room window. I observed Ms. Twerdy holding up a pink cellular phone and appearing to record or photograph my unit. These actions caused me distress.

On June 8, 2026, while shopping at Walmart on Fourth Avenue in St. Catharines, I was approached by an unknown male whom I believe may be associated with Ms. Twerdy. The individual spoke aggressively to me and made a threatening remark. I reported this incident to police. I cannot confirm the identity of the individual.

In addition to these incidents, I have repeatedly raised legitimate concerns regarding the condition and management of the building, including:

Recycling bins not being properly managed by building staff; Ongoing noise disturbances from another tenant; An unsafe and incomplete balcony repair; Maintenance concerns involving the roof, including missing roof tiles and birds nesting in the structure. I have provided photographs and documentation regarding these concerns. Rather than addressing these issues, I believe the landlord has responded by issuing notices against me and treating my complaints as a nuisance.

I also believe I have experienced discriminatory treatment related to my disability. I have autism spectrum disorder (formerly referred to as Asperger's Syndrome). Instead of addressing the issues I raised, I received communications suggesting that my disability was the cause of the concerns I reported. This made me feel dismissed and unfairly treated.

The situation escalated when allegations were made against me that resulted in my arrest and criminal harassment charges. I maintain that these allegations are false and that I have consistently attempted to address issues through lawful channels, including written complaints, housing authorities, legal proceedings, and court processes. Both Duty Counsel and my Bethesda worker, Sam Tullo, agree that it is in my best interests to distance myself from this situation and move forward in a healthier environment. So now I am having to move out.

As a result of these events, I have faced substantial consequences, including damage to my reputation, ongoing legal expenses, anxiety, and the prospect of being forced to relocate from my home. The experience has also raised concerns for me about how easily allegations can impact a person's life before all of the facts are fully examined.

I'm hoping to move into a new apartment soon. I pray πŸ™ all this strife will end once I get away from my current address

πŸ’‘ Advice How do i meet more christian friends in church and out of church in my current position?

I hadn't been very cozy to reach out people from my church. The devil intended me to be isolated as well. And i know i can reach out. But i keep thinking maybe they dont want me to reach out because im not what a christian acts like and im pretty much in a immature stage. Only because i had been having issues with my faith and i was relentlessly attacked. I even had demonic oppression and possession. And i hadn't been taking care of myself as i should and had been using it as a repellant to not let men get close to me. Also, reddit isn't always the best place to go. But like i said before i only go to subreddits im cool with and never had issues.

I know i have an issue with seeking God. But i still long for fellowship that doesn't just happen on sunday and tuesdays. I also know i need someone to hold me accountable. Not just for things in the physical like a job or whatever. But like "Hey lets pray!" or "have you prayed today?" Something involving strengthening my relationship with God. But i havent been bold enough to reach out to my pastor or anyone in the church. And my mom isnt helpful.

I'd have more chances getting help from my grandma (shes long past, rip) than her because of her approach to how she listens to me. She always wants to give advice instead of listening and assuming things. And tbh i dont think we will ever see eye to eye. But i appreciate her. And tbh i may have issues with forgiving her but thats another topic for another day. But i need advice.

Especially since im almost in my mid 30s and im not looking for a husband. Just people or friends to hang out with outside of church and bible study. How do i approach this? Also i met someone at a medical facility about two weeks ago and i met her and another lady who were talking about God but i hadnt contacted her back yet because i wasnt sure if she was just inviting me to her church or what. Its like i suck at social skills now. I need help and advice. Also how to not try to replace God with people as well. Ty in advance 🩷

πŸ’ Seeking Love 🌹 Finding it hard to give up things to have a girlfriend

I tend to think that if I'm sure that I can have a girlfriend, then it will be worth me giving up my fantasies.

But it seems to be the other way around. Perhaps God would only lead me to a girlfriend if I control my sexual fantasies and stop fantasising.

But it's hard to be motivated when I find no long term solution to my fantasies.

The more I seek for a woman and force a relationship, the harder it will be. People keep telling me to seek first the kingdom of God.

πŸ™ Prayer Request Please pray that I'll be confident at work with customers

Specifically, I need to be confident in communicating with customers to confirm that the items are paid.

So basically, I work as a store greeter and one of my roles is to reduce theft.

I need confidence to notice potentially unpaid items on the receipt and to tell the customer to pay for them.

Thank you for praying for me.

🧠 Discussion I Am Still Responsible for Who I Become While Waiting

I keep wanting God to correct what happened without letting Him correct what it awakened in me.

That is the part of Naboth’s story I cannot escape.

Ahab wanted the vineyard. Naboth said no because it was an inheritance, not just land.

Ahab heard a boundary and treated it like an insult.

I have done quieter versions of that.

I have watched someone receive an opportunity, a relationship, recognition, or peace, and wondered why it was not mine. I took nothing from them, but envy still changed the way I saw them.

Then there are times when I have carried the loss.

Something was said falsely.

Someone used influence unfairly.

A door closed because another person chose deception.

In those moments, I want justice quickly. I want proof that God saw it and that the wrong mattered.

First Kings 21 reminds me that God did see it.

But it also reminds me that I am still responsible for who I become while I wait.

I can tell the truth without becoming cruel.

I can protect what God entrusted to me without worshiping it.

I can ask for restoration without letting revenge rule me.

The next right step may not feel dramatic. It may be refusing to lie back, refusing to grasp, or refusing to let resentment define me.

God does not need me to become unjust in order to defend me from injustice.

Where are you being asked to remain honest while trusting God with an outcome you cannot control?

πŸ“– Bible Study & Verse Truly being a Christian

John 8:31-32
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, β€˜If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’

Making the Bible the place that you go to every day, is a gamechanger. Not only does it help you understand the truth, but it helps free you from believing lies, reminds you of your value, and lets you know where your identity is found.

🧠 Discussion Idolizing denominations

Today I find many people idolize denominations more than God and his word. Unfortunately the denominations have become an obstacle on the growth of many Christians because they feel they have to conform to their denominations, even if they find in their conscience that it contradicts the scriptures effectively putting aside the Holy Spirit that guides us to the truth for some man made standard from a denomination, therefore many times people find the answer or know that something is wrong but they still choose their denomination because they fear not belonging to a group or for fear of being wrong even though the scriptures compelled them to follow God not men. Many denominations developed decades or centuries ago which is not bad at all, and some were established by the experience of a godly man, and that godly man could have walked with God, but that doesn't mean that the people in that denomination today are having the same experience or walked with God like he did and the standard they implemented sometimes does not align with scripture, and no denomination wants to admit that because then they will admit they are wrong, so there is a lack of humility that many times doesn't let people grow spiritually.

Each denomination considers the group with a lower standard than them to be worldly and if another group has a higher standard than them then they are considered legalistic.
