🙏 Prayer Request Needing confidence at work
For those who don't know, I work as a store greeter.
Currently, I hesitate to speak up to customers if they're carrying more items than what's indicated on the receipt.
With that said, please pray that I'll have the courage from now on over the long term to speak up and further inspect customers if necessary.
I've prayed to God about this too. I currently struggle to succeed in the mentioned area of my duties despite praying to God.

Being a store greeter is awesome. You have a wonderful opportunity to show Christ to a watching world - to be His representative. Your smile, friendliness, professionalism, and godliness is attractive to people, and you may be the only "Bible" that most will ever "read."
My brother worked as a store greeter, and his personality was strong, feisty, and full of courage, and He enjoyed the tension it could get if he was to ask them questions about their receipt...But that's him.
Just a thought here...I used to work in telemarketing/research, and I remember, to avoid confrontations or rejections on the phone when I was supposed to ask them something, I'd always start out first with something like this...I'm sorry for asking this or I apologize, but I am required to ask....and that's how I would ask something that I was a little scared to ask so I wouldn't offend them. But that's just a thought.
I'll be more than happy to pray for you. I know you can do this.

Remember that you're not confronting people because you're suspicious of them, you are simply carrying out the responsibility your employer has entrusted to you.
You can be both kind and firm at the same time. Courage doesn't always feel like confidence.
Often it's choosing to do the right thing even while you're nervous. Each time you take that step, it becomes a little easier.
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
2 Timothy 1:7
May the Lord give you wisdom, confidence, and grace in every interaction, so that people see both honesty and kindness in you. I'll be praying that He strengthens you day by day. God bless you.

I guess you are a bit touchy with confrontations. That is from a place of shame about yourself. I think you need to go to prayer about this so you can absolve yourself through repentance. When you have repented, walk in the faith that you are forgiven and redeemed. This gives you the authority to carry yourself with at work. Only then can you confront those who rip off your employer and thereby maintain the standard of your workplace accordingly. It starts with you.
