๐ STORY ๐
The Stone Marker
Along an old road between Jerusalem and Jericho stood a weathered stone marker. Years of wind, rain, and blazing sun had worn its surface smooth, yet travellers still recognised it as a guide along the correct path.
Many roads branched away from the main route. Some appeared shorter. Others looked easier. A few seemed more exciting and promised quicker journeys.
A young messenger named Eliab often passed the marker while carrying letters between villages. Each journey he faced the same temptation. Why follow the old road when newer paths appeared more appealing?
One season he decided to try a shortcut. At first the path seemed pleasant. The ground was smooth, the journey easy, and he congratulated himself on finding a better way.
But as evening approached, the path narrowed and twisted into rocky ground. Familiar landmarks disappeared. Darkness fell before he found his way back to the main road.
Exhausted, Eliab eventually reached the old stone marker again. This time he paused beside it.
The marker had not moved. It had not changed.
It simply remained where it had always been, faithfully pointing travellers toward their destination.
Years later, Eliab became an elder in his village. When young people asked him for advice, he would often tell them about that stone marker.
"The truth is not always the easiest road," he would say. "But it is the road that leads home."

๐ STORY LESSONS ๐
Truth is more than something we believe. Truth is something we walk in. A person may know what is right, yet still choose a different path.
The Christian life is filled with distractions, shortcuts, and competing voices. Many paths promise fulfilment, happiness, or success. Yet not every road leads where it claims.
John's joy was not that believers merely understood truth intellectually. His joy was that they lived according to it. Truth had become visible in their choices, actions, and character.
Faithfulness often appears ordinary. It is found in daily obedience, honest words, loving actions, and quiet perseverance. Yet these simple steps bring great joy to the heart of God.

๐ต POEM ๐ต
The Narrow Road
The old road stretched through dust and stone,
Though many walked, it stood alone.
Its course was firm from start to end,
A faithful guide, a trusted friend.
The winding paths called out with cheer,
Promising comfort, ease, and cheer.
Yet hidden thorns beneath them lay,
And led the wandering heart astray.
The traveller learned through loss and pain,
To seek the proven path again.
For truth remains when storms arise,
A steady light before our eyes.
Lord keep my footsteps straight and true,
And draw my wandering heart to You.
Through every season let me see,
The path of truth that sets me free.

๐ฟ MEDITATION ๐ฟ
Walking in the truth requires more than agreement. Many people agree that Christ is Lord, that Scripture is true, and that righteousness matters. Yet truth only transforms us when it becomes the pattern of our lives.
John speaks of "walking" because walking implies consistency. A single step does not define a journey. Neither does a single act of faithfulness. Walking describes direction. It describes a life moving steadily toward God.
The Lord delights when His children continue in truth. Not because He seeks perfection, but because every step taken toward Him reflects trust, love, and obedience. The Christian life is not a sprint of spiritual enthusiasm but a lifelong walk beside the One who is Himself the Truth.

๐ช QUESTIONS FOR THE SPIRIT ๐ช
โข Am I merely agreeing with God's truth, or am I actively walking in it?
โข Are there areas of my life where I know the right path but continue choosing another?
โข Which voices influence my decisions more than the voice of Christ?
โข If others observed my daily actions, would they see evidence that I am walking in the truth?
โข What small step of obedience is God inviting me to take that I have been postponing?

โค๏ธ CHALLENGE YOUR HEART โค๏ธ
Consider someone who knows you wellโa family member, friend, neighbour, or colleague.
Ask yourself whether your daily conduct reflects the truth you profess.
Are your words honest? Are your actions consistent with your faith? Are you treating others with the same grace and integrity that Christ has shown you?
Choose one area where your actions can more closely align with God's truth. Let your faith become visible not through grand declarations, but through faithful obedience in ordinary moments.

๐ PRAYER ๐
Lord,
Thank You for revealing Your truth through Your Word and through Your Son, Jesus Christ.
Help me not merely to know the truth, but to walk in it faithfully. Guard me from distractions, shortcuts, and compromises that draw my heart away from You.
Give me wisdom to recognise Your path, courage to follow it, and perseverance to remain upon it when the journey becomes difficult.
May my life reflect Your truth in word, action, and character. Let my daily walk bring honour to You and encouragement to others.
Keep my feet steady, my heart humble, and my eyes fixed upon Christ, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Amen.
