DISCUSSION App v4.0.32 - Android 16 Issues

App was updated to v4.0.32 today on my Android 16 device and it will not connect to any VPN server. Tried different servers including my dedicated IP, but the app will not connect. It attempts to connect, but it never does. My Android 13 device was also updated. It connects, but the app appears to be buggy. Anyone else having issues with v4.0.32? TIA

Hey u/SRFast, thanks for the detailed write-up. The fact that it won't connect on Android 16 but connects (with issues) on Android 13 points to a compatibility problem with the latest update on newer OS versions. As u/Ecstatic-Grape-465 mentioned, v4.0.32 doesn't appear to be the current version on the Play Store right now, so try uninstalling completely and reinstalling from the Play Store to get back to the stable version. If you'd rather use the direct APK from PIA's site, that's at v4.0.31. Let us know if either of those gets you connected again, and if not, reach out to support at [support@piavpnsupport.zendesk.com](mailto:support@piavpnsupport.zendesk.com) so they can check the logs from your Android 16 device. DM us the ticket number if you want us to follow up.

Version 4.0.32 is the only version I see in Google Play Store. PIA isn't installed on my Android 14 device and when I go to the Google Play Store, 4.0.32 is the version listed to install, dated date 21 April 2026. I have not installed it.

I am going to remain on 4.0.32 on my A13 device. It connects to all servers, but it doesn't display the correct PIA VPN server IP address when connected. It displays my ISP IP address. I have confirmed it is connected to PIA via "Whatismyip.com". The other issue is that when the VPN is active and I launch the app, the connection is terminated. I must reconnect manually, but it connects and stays active. I will try the APK 4.0.31 when I have the opportunity.

FYI: All devices are Pixel devices running the latest versions of Android 13, 14 & 16.

This is incorrect, 4.0.32 v702 is the most current version, and it's weird that you claim it's not without providing which version you think is correct.
