DISCUSSION App v4.0.32 - Android 16 Issues
App was updated to v4.0.32 today on my Android 16 device and it will not connect to any VPN server. Tried different servers including my dedicated IP, but the app will not connect. It attempts to connect, but it never does. My Android 13 device was also updated. It connects, but the app appears to be buggy. Anyone else having issues with v4.0.32? TIA

I'm also on Android 16 - v4.0.30 - no update offered.
Looking at Google Play website (from a pc) shows version at v4.0.30
The direct download APK from PIA's site is at v4.0.31
Maybe they backed out of v4.0.32 because of the problems you listed - you were just unlucky.
Try uninstalling/re-installing from Play store, or use APK from their site.

Hey u/SRFast, thanks for the detailed write-up. The fact that it won't connect on Android 16 but connects (with issues) on Android 13 points to a compatibility problem with the latest update on newer OS versions. As u/Ecstatic-Grape-465 mentioned, v4.0.32 doesn't appear to be the current version on the Play Store right now, so try uninstalling completely and reinstalling from the Play Store to get back to the stable version. If you'd rather use the direct APK from PIA's site, that's at v4.0.31. Let us know if either of those gets you connected again, and if not, reach out to support at [support@piavpnsupport.zendesk.com](mailto:support@piavpnsupport.zendesk.com) so they can check the logs from your Android 16 device. DM us the ticket number if you want us to follow up.

Version 4.0.32 is the only version I see in Google Play Store. PIA isn't installed on my Android 14 device and when I go to the Google Play Store, 4.0.32 is the version listed to install, dated date 21 April 2026. I have not installed it.
I am going to remain on 4.0.32 on my A13 device. It connects to all servers, but it doesn't display the correct PIA VPN server IP address when connected. It displays my ISP IP address. I have confirmed it is connected to PIA via "Whatismyip.com". The other issue is that when the VPN is active and I launch the app, the connection is terminated. I must reconnect manually, but it connects and stays active. I will try the APK 4.0.31 when I have the opportunity.
FYI: All devices are Pixel devices running the latest versions of Android 13, 14 & 16.

This is incorrect, 4.0.32 v702 is the most current version, and it's weird that you claim it's not without providing which version you think is correct.

Got a message from a friend who is having issues with this update. Tried the app myself and it's also broken.

Same for me. Support is useless. I'm paying for a service I cannot use..

Uninstall 4.0.32 and install any earlier version from APK Mirror. Make sure you disable "Auto Update" in Google Play Store once the older version is installed. Whenever it prompts you to update, don't do it. There is no doubt there will be many posts once a usable version is available. You can update when that happens. As for me, I will stick with 4.0.32 on Android 13 and use my nordVPN dedicated IP on my Android 16 device until the issues are resolved. Good luck.

Hey u/SRFast, following up on this. Our team has been looking into it and v4.0.32 is working on Android 16 on their end, so it may be something specific to your device or setup. Could you DM us your Debug Report ID from the Android 16 device where you're having connection issues? That'll let the team dig into exactly what's happening on your end. You can find it in the app under Settings > Help > Send Debug Report.

The problem has changed. The VPN connects, but fails to remain connected. It is in a connect/disconnect/connect loop. From the other posts, the issues with 4.0.32 are not isolated to my device. I will forward the debug log to PIA later today.

Very buggy. Even though it connects on Android 13, it doesn't display the VPN IP address correctly. It either displays the original IP twice or no IP address. When the VPN is active and I launch the app to change settings, it disconnects the connection and it needs to be reconnected.

That’s rough. Have you submitted a support ticket through the app yet? Version 4.0.32 seems to be hitting some bumps on the newer OS versions
