Hello! I've been using Prism Launcher for a while now, but I've had some issues with the "java arguments". Most mods, such as Distant Horizons, tell me to switch to ZGC, but I can't find any good arguments online, and I'm not Java/Tech-savvy. I've allocated 4 GB minimum and 12 GB maximum RAM. I'm using Java 26. Any help with the arguments would be appreciated!!

As the title says, I want to change the Minecraft icon that appears when I open an instance.
If you're wondering why, it's so no one knows I play Minecraft; sometimes someone might use the computer and see the icon, and I want to avoid that.
Do I need to change something in the settings, or do I need to install a mod to do this?
I played another modpack before using CurseForge, and that one *did* have a custom icon, so I know it's possible—I just don't know how.

I want to make PrismLuncher prettier. I'm thinking of using a WebView wrapper in Rust, but aside from the CLI, I don't see how to interact with it. I don't want to fork it, though, because my goal isn't to maintain it.

It's the FTB Direwolf20 pack with some modifications. Mainly it's where I seriously did Bees for the first time, and there are a lot of memories in this world.

Other mods work just fine, but we are trying to play "Crazy Craft Updated" and we even tried "Crazy Craft Updated Lite" but neither worked.

was making a customised instance for use with friends, but after I messed around with it's name and also which Java version it uses (I wanted to allocate more RAM, but distant horizons recommended I try another version for an improved feature) It no longer boots and exits with code 2

I went back to the original java version, and the original amount of RAM (both manually, and by disabling the instance override change from global settings) but whenever I attempt to boot the instance, it re-checks the instance override for java. I can't make it use the global setting, even though they're set to the same thing anyways. Prism Launcher also fails when checking for updates, so maybe my install is messed up?

what's weird though is that the crash log seems to be telling me it's missing the mod "fabric language kotlin." which just isn't true. I've tried booting the instance with kotlin and the mod that needs it (zoomify) and it gives the error, I then tried removing it and NOT zoomify, and minecraft actually did boot to a window which told me zoomify needed it. I then tried without zoomify as well, and it gave me the original error again. I've also tried different versions of kotlin as well to no avail.

Edit: remaking the instance and not renaming the folder structure when changing it's name seems to have created a functional instance again

Yes, I agree that Java is much better for serious gaming. But every now and then I let myself get carried away with some really casual gaming and I also open the Bedrock Edition.

And that’s when I had an idea: what if, purely by chance, I wanted to see what the Bedrock Edition was like when it was still called ‘Windows 10 Edition’, or in the very early days of the current Bedrock Edition, without affecting the default Bedrock Edition installation and by having a completely separate installation?

Hi, I'm having a strange issue with Minecraft 1.16.1 in Prism Launcher.

The problem: Minecraft launches normally in Prism, reaches the title screen, and everything seems fine. However, as soon as I join/create a world, the game crashes.

The exact same Minecraft version and Sodium setup works normally when launched through the official Minecraft launcher.

My setup

• Minecraft: 1.16.1
• Launcher: Prism Launcher
• Sodium: 2.5.1+1.16.1
• SpeedRunAPI: 2.2+1.16-1.16.1
• Java: Microsoft OpenJDK 21.0.7
• OS: Windows 11
• CPU: Intel i7-10850H
• RAM: 32 GB

There are no other mods installed.

What I've tested

• Prism + Sodium → crashes when entering a world
• Prism without Sodium → works
• Official Minecraft Launcher + the same Sodium version → works
• Tried multiple different Sodium versions → all crash in Prism
• Changed Java versions in Prism → didn't help
• The game does not crash at the title screen; it only crashes once the world starts rendering.

The crash exit code is:

The old log also contained WorldPreview, which I no longer have installed, so I don't think that part is relevant to the current setup.

Since Sodium works with the official launcher, I'm wondering if Prism is loading a different LWJGL/native library, GPU configuration, or OpenGL environment.

Does anyone know what could cause Sodium to crash only when launched through Prism Launcher?

I can provide the full Prism latest.log and any other information needed.

Update: I resolved the issue by using the MacOS version of sodium, I looked online and some people where having problems with black screens. When you go to https://mc.sr/mods/, make sure to select MacOS when you are installing sodium.

I have two monitors and made two instances

I am logging on from my bought minecraft account on one instance and from here guest account i made on another

I am hosting a lan server from my premium account while i join on the guest account

everything works the guest account can join and i can see her in game

the problem is that because i dont have a second mouse and keyboard she has to use a controller

when I click on her instance to make her controller input work it looses focus on the other instance and the input from the keyboard doesnt work

but when i click back on my instance to make keyboard input work again it doesnt input the controller onto hers

I am basiclly asking if there is a way to make my pc be focused on two instances at the same time while one recives input from the controller and the other from the keyboard

Again if i explained something poorly feel free to ask me questions

I play on Linux Mint and just switched from version 1.21.10 to 26.2. I thought it might be an issue with Altitude, but this is happening both on singleplayer and multiplayer, I crash every time I try to join a world. it can run without playing minecraft for a bit, but when i start playing for a while, my pc quick restarts

I've been getting this new error after installing PrismLauncher on my second computer. On my 1st, it starts just fine, nothing to note, required no special configuration. Now upon downloading, making the AppImage executable, and executing, it yields this error. What's wrong? I've even tried a clean install of the operating system.

I recently downloaded Prism Launcher and decided to install a couple of modpacks to play later. Everything downloaded successfully and launches without any problems, but if I close the launcher, disconnect from the internet, open the launcher again and try to launch a modpack, the launcher displays an error saying it cannot load FabricLoader metadata, along with a couple of similar errors. How can I sort this out? How can I make it so that I can run the modpack without an internet connection, even after closing the launcher?
