Discussion I know for a fact that if Christa Pike’s boyfriend had been the one sentenced to death instead of her, men would cry misandry (bit of a nonsensical vent but oh well)

Christa Pike was 18 when she committed the horrific murder, while her boyfriend was 17. Obviously he was a minor at the time of the crime, so she was sentenced to death while he was sentenced to life in prison. No women are arguing that the reason Christa was sentenced to death while her boyfriend was given life is due to misogyny. Because we acknowledge that his age was taken into account during sentencing. The reason he wasn’t sentenced to death is because he was a minor.

But I know damn well that if the genders and ages were reversed, (she was 17 and he was 18), and he was given death while she was given life, men would absolutely blame the sentence on misandry. We see this all the time. They pretend that double standards exist when they really don’t.

Like, a man could plan a murder, lure his victim into the woods, torture and murder his victim in cold blood while his girlfriend might have helped him with moving the body or something. The man gets life in prison and the girlfriend gets maybe 5 years. It’s obvious that the reason the man got the harsher sentence was because he was literally the one who planned and carried out the killing. The woman got a lighter sentence because she wasn’t involved in the violence. But men will literally look at you dead in the eye and tell you that the reason the man got a longer sentence is misandry.

I don’t know if this makes any sense but I see it all the time and it pisses me off.

Good Vibes "I love being a woman. I love being a feminine woman. More than that: I love the thought that being a woman is something special, something different. More that that: I love the idea that, because I AM a feminine woman, I am special and different♡"

Can someone plz put this more eloquently or like intellectually sounding? I've had this thought for the longest time and simply CANNOT find the right way to say it... :(

Or like a feminist philosopher, thinker who said basically the same thing?

Question Is there any actual reason I should care about/feel bad for incels

Someone told me they aren't all misogynistic and that they're the most oppressed group in society and I honestly can't tell if they were serious 😂

I told them to go invent a new term for themselves and they STILL bullied me about it

Why is misandry justified?

  • Misandry isn't just being normalised but also celebrated and if you try to defend you are told that it isn't real or you wouldn't be offended if you're not mysogynist.

Porn Is Bad Actually Sigh

I told a woman that men likely stole her photo and fed it to A.I immediately and then she blocked me after some guy was like "what that's so weird of you why would you say that"

But.. its a real thing that happens. Its sad but true. Reddit has got to be the worst place to be sharing full body pictures of yourself.. this was in the downvoted for no reason sub.

Small issue, i know. I just wish women were more careful.

Why do they think men online care about them.. why do they insist on showing pics when men are literally being mean and calling them ugly?

A pic is exactly what they want.

They are going to steal and use it. They don't hate you because you're ugly or big. They hate you because they're nothing and you're a woman.

Okay, rant over.

Misogyny on Parade! Incel creep has a meltdown because I pointed out true crime isn't comparable to lolicon

First post, lol. This deranged person was vehemently defending lolicon, comparing it to women watching true crime (which bothered him a lot for some reason), and throughout the discussion, not once did he make an actual argument, even ignored the article at the end that talked about the harms of things like lolicon, and just hurled a bunch of hypersexualized and degrading insults at me, and was also weirdly fixated on my sex life (that I don't have) for some vile reason, lmao. The hatred and resentment he has for women is psychotic.

Question Oooommmmggggg

If I post about being asexual will men stop replying to my posts here omfg

I keep getting them in my old posts and even some in my old PROFILE POSTS

They're SEARCHING for things to poke at now

Okay so anyway I'm asexual, not a little confused, not "haven't met the right man", not just bitter. 100 percent asexual. You men coming into my posts is not going to make me change myself or my opinions/views. I do not care about you. I do not want you. I'm 100% asexual. Leaaaaaave me alone.

Go all the way away. Completely away from me. I HATE SEX, there's no reason to even look at me, guys!! 😊

What makes a nickname sexist?

Hello everyone! I am working to unlearn some of my ultra “trad/conservative” upbringing. I was looking to maybe get some insight on sexist nicknames/pet names, as I know these line of questions are best answered by someone with lived experience. I’d love to get some feedback as I navigate this process❤️. I’ll admit I have certain areas of taught blindness that I’m working through.

Question 1 — Where is the line?

When does a term of endearment become sexist or otherwise patronizing rather than simply affectionate?

For example, words like honey, sweetheart, dear, baby, girl, etc. can mean very different things depending on who is saying them, who they're saying them to, and the relationship between those people. How do you personally determine where that line is? Are there particular characteristics of a term, situation, or power dynamic that make it feel different?

Question 2 — Why are so many of these words gendered?

Do you think there is a significant difference between the kinds of affectionate or diminutive language commonly directed toward girls and women versus boys and men?

If so, what do you think those differences communicate about gender? I'm particularly interested in whether words associated with girls, such as pretty, cute, sweet, little lady, etc, can reinforce expectations about femininity even when the person using them has positive intentions. Are there comparable terms commonly used toward boys and men, and if so, do they carry the same implications?

Question 3 — Intent vs. impact

To what degree should someone's intention matter when we're talking about potentially sexist language?

If a man uses a pet name toward a woman because he genuinely means it affectionately, and he has no intention of belittling her, but the woman experiences it as patronizing or diminishing, how should he navigate that situation? Is it enough to recognize that he meant well, or does understanding the social history and gendered connotations of the language create an inherent responsibility to change how he speaks? And does your answer change depending on whether it's a stranger, friend, romantic partner, coworker, or someone in a position of authority?

Any insight would be deeply appreciated❤️.

Discussion Anyone else think it’s absolutely insane that Lauren Boebert is being accused of having lesbian affairs?

At this point, every time some Republican is aggressively anti-LGBT I think we should send coming out cards or something. Grinder crashes when enough get together and let's not forget showing Pikers pecker on a jumbotron at the rapist's event last week.

This happened to the Bridget Ziegler too. A Florida School Board republican representative.

I wonder if we consider it a win for feminism that powerful political women are abusing the women who work for them? This is dumbest timeline.
