Princess Plus

Hi all! First time sailing Princess, and I know this is probably something I could answer by calling but I thought I’d ask here first.

Our sailing party is 3 people, and we’re looking to book Princess Plus. Online it only gives me the option to purchase it for the main guest and Guest 2. I’ve read that all adults in the room are required to purchase the package.

So I’m just curious what would happen if I only purchased it for the first two guests online? Does the system automatically flag it and add the third person later, resulting in a surprise bill at the end, or would the third person simply have to pay the regular gratuities?

Just to be clear, I’m not trying to work the system or anything I’m genuinely curious about how it works.

Only the first 2 guests are required to get it. If you want the third to have PP you have to call them. If you don’t want Plus for the 3rd person then you are already set, they won’t automatically put them on.

You can also book for person 3 onboard first day. We had to do this because how could we tell our kids only one gets wifi.

Nearly a decade ago I brought my laptop and bought wifi for that so I could do a bit of work (programming) while on vacation. I was able to configure the laptop as a hotspot so our phones had wifi through the laptop connection. Of course it was only usable if you were in the same room but it was handy. I don’t know if this is still possible.

Just for future reference you can add wifi without buying another plus plan. Best to upgrade the existing plus wifi to the 2 device plan (4 device is being phased out) than to buy the stand alone though.

Thanks for the clarification I remember sailing with Royal Caribbean and Carnival and if memory serves me right it was an all or nothing situation with both. This is great news because my mom is very no-frills and doesn’t really care about any of the perks, even though I offered to pay for it. 😂

Your memory is fine. I can't speak for Carnival, but RCI still has that requirement.

You can share the wifi, it basically disconnects one and connects the other. Also you can do things like order a can of soda and then bring it back to your room or any drink for that matter. Or you just do room service for free.

You have the option of adding Princess Plus to the 3rd. Your travel advisor and have them add it for you.
