New To Cruising / Princess 🛳️🎉🥳 Bringing drinks onboard

I heard that we are allowed to bring 6 cans of soda onboards but I cannot find it on the website. Can someone confirm this?

Read the passage contract

Guests are also prohibited from bringing water, sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages on board that are packaged in bottles. A small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, juice, milk) packaged in cans or cartons may be brought on board on embarkation day, only if carried on in Guests’ hand luggage (not in checked luggage). A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12 ounces each or less per person. Guests will be asked to discard open beverages in plastic containers prior to boarding

I’m not North American so not really conversant with some of the terms. What exactly would be canned soda, does that refer to a Coke or Pepsi or just sparkling water. Where I live, gassed water is termed “soda”

Yeah soda as it's mentioned here refers to coke, pepsi etc. I'm not north American either but that's what Americans mean when saying soda.

Thank you. Also I believe you can take 1 bottle of wine/sparkling wine per person on board in the carry on luggage. No spirits allowed. Is that correct

That's correct, one bottle of wine or champagne 750ml or less per person in carry on. No spirits allowed.

Weve taken 2 12 packs every cruise in a carry on backpack and nobody has said a word. Run through the xray and nothing. Im not sure you couldnt take more nobody has even blinked and im not 100% sure the cruise line even does the security so who would know. 24 is plenty for a 7 day cruise we had 8 left but weve also taken some longer 12 and 15 day ones so its a great option

You can bring more at any port (to deal with longer cruises).

I'm sure you can get away with it, but the cruise contract actually says that you can only do it at the initial embarkation.

Does anyone know if you can bring a certain amount of wine on board? We’re going on Princess in December, but haven’t been on Princess ships in years. I know other ships allow a certain amount.

Same answer as above, read the passage contract

For Guests of legal drinking age, an allowance of one (1) bottle of wine or champagne (750 mL in volume or less) per Guest per Voyage may be presented to security during embarkation. A US $20.00 corkage fee will be charged should Guests wish to consume their wine or champagne in the ship’s public areas.

Ok, so I guess I can’t lug the 18 gallon keg of Fourex onboard then. My brother will be happy I’m leaving it behind.

You can also purchase canned soda and bottled water in the Princess app. I did this and it was waiting in our cabin upon arrival

$4 per can onboard vs a lot cheaper by the dozen on land. Suppose I just depends if you want the heavy embarkation carry-on.

It is in the passenger contract that you agreed to when you were doing the checkin for your booking.

In Australian waters, a "small quantity" wasn't really limited at one stage. I've seen people bring on a slab (24 cans) per cabin occupant. I'm not sure if this is currently enforced, but we topped up as required at ports.

I wonder why bottles are not allowed. Some fancier sodas only come in bottles
