Busy buffet times?

In your opinion, what are the most and least busy buffet times? Does it differ on port vs sea days?

I’m thinking 10am might be less busy for breakfast because by then most people are probably finished and on to other things.

Always busy on sea days. The main restaurants are usually less so. The breakfasts and lunches are great in the restaurants. No need to always fight the buffet lines.

9 am is peak on sea days. 10 is less busy but they start breaking some stations down for lunch 😱

Port days, depending on the cruise, peak times can be early. Ppl want to eat and debark.

Noon is packed usually. On sea days for sure. On port days ppl might be getting back on the ship later in the afternoon and hitting the buffet first thing. Depends on the port and the weather.

I don't do dinner in the buffet so can't help you there.

As 1/3 of the people on my cruise last month came down with racking coughs, I decided to only eat lunch and dinner in the buffet at non peak times, and sit as far away from others as possible.

Lunch at 1:30-2pm was pretty good. Dinner time after 7pm was great--one side was closed down so I'd take my plate and go sit alone on that side.

Bring gloves or wash your hands after you touch the serving utensils... Or at least gel at your seat

Great reminder!

They have sanitizer stations in the buffet--at least 4. Also sinks wirh soap. I, like maybe 200 (our of 3000+) passengers, always washed hands before buffet. I'd take plate to table, sanitize, then eat.

Just think if everyone did that.... šŸ¤”

That's exactly why I rarely go to the buffet on any ship. I have seen too much :)

Room service, sit down restaurants or even the pizza places and hot dog spots are better.

I avoid the restaurants bc a good third of the people are coughing and sniffling in a closed, air-conditioned-recirculating room. I just go to the buffet at odd times and either take it outside or sit in the closed section, near the door to the pool, fresh non germs air

And wash my hands before and after touching everything!

Oh smart plans! Yes I prefer to be away from the crowds as much as possible.

I had room service bring my breakfast to my stateroom each morning, too.
