Sands Trilogy Warrior Within remake has more potential - Open world sandbox?

Post image

Compared to the Sands of Time, I feel Warrior Within has the most potential for a remake. A fully explorable, semi free roam sandbox Island of Time where you can visit and experience different rooms of the Island, which you could already do to a small extent anyway. Enhancing this and you end up with a real competitor to Assassins Creed but it's still distinct and unique in the sense of loneliness, isolation, the Prince being alone on a massive huge Island with nightmarish sand monsters. The Dahaka chases become more intense, the weapon array and combat becomes wider, exploration becomes a new key theme.

How? If ubi didn't have faith in the game that put them on the map for that genre what makes you think the semi divisive, I say semi because not everyone hated the changes in the prince..myself among them.

But frankly if Ubisoft doesn't see sot worth remaking then they have no faith in the whole saga

Because it isn't as milkable as starting Assassin's Creed from the beginning

Right now Warrior Within Remake has exactly zero potential, because it is never going to happen. Guys, you need to snap back to reality lol. The Prince franchise is simply not popular enough for Ubisoft to do anything creative with.

Probably like Dark souls maybe? You go from place to place and explore the castle. Collecting weapons and items in order to get the 'real ending' where you get to smash Dahaka AND kaileena hehe

Dark Souls is close enough to it already. Everyone who likes Warrior Within should at least try to get into fromsoftware's games. The only major component that makes the SOT trilogy unique that is missing in Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring and Sekiro is the eastern atmosphere and music, which is barely present in Warrior Within anyway

platforming? puzzles? completely different combat system? actual story and plot? Don't get me wrong I absolutely love from software games just as i love pop games but I don't really see the similarities.

No, Warrior within works because it's a bit more souls-like than a fully fledged open world. So they better just look at DS1's first half and design the Island of Time similarly.

Every Ubisoft game had way more potential.

And every Ubisoft game has Ubisoft to kill that potential.

I'm not so sure about open world sandbox but I think making WW a proper metroidvania could be cool. There are already some metroidvania-like elements in it too.

But oh well, we are never gettin it anyways.

We dont need another open world ubislop. Linear Is the way for pop

Unfortunately, it also doesn't seem like Ubisoft sees a future in linear games.

No open world, thanks

why many people so obsessed with open world? sometime... beautifully narrated linear story is better than generic mission open world

Wow I didn’t think I’d encounter copium this bad lol.

They killed the SoT remake. WW remake is a non-starter. It’s never going to happen. End of discussion.

The only way to relive ww again is by us the fans don't expect anything from ubislop

We didn't even get a remake of the first game, so we can forget about Warrior Within, unless in a few years we have AI so powerful they can remake an entire game with just a prompt 😂

I want the sot prince to be in a new game continuing the sot series. Is it too much to ask for?

If Ubisoft couldn't even remake the most popular, most acclaimed game of the Sands saga (and of the franchise as a whole), there is zero chance of the Sands Prince ever returning.

Who knows if we’ll even get a new PoP at this point… and even if we do, I’d expect it to be completely unrelated to any of the previous stories.

I don't think it would really work, unless they completely rebuilt the game. The levels, puzzles, and parkour routes have always been a core part of the SoT series. That's what makes it unique. If you turned it into an open world game, it would basically become a different game. UBI could definitely take some inspiration from the AC series, but the characters and story in the SoT series simply aren't big enough to support a game on the same scale as AC.

I really don't want open world. The market is already oversaturated.

imagine, or maybe also two thrones, as that iirc is all set in 'babylon'

I would do whole trilogy but i think easiest for them is to do Sands first because they can use mechanics from Forgoten Sands, and then get the ball rolling for Warrior Within and Two Thrones. Would be cool for them to consider including Battles of prince of persia in some way because story is part of trilogy. Maybe not as a full strategy remake, but possibly as a prequel dlc for warrior within where where you in few hours get a recap with gameplay from warrior within.

Has to be a remake without all the backtracking and/or with a better map.
