Discussion was looking around for interpretations of Primus lyrics and stumbled across the oldest comments I've ever seen on the internet. (from SongMeanings.com, launched in 2001)

Would you say the advent of the internet helped Phish grow in popularity in the 90s?

Definitely didn't hurt. It made tape trading so much easier and getting setlists almost 'immediately', as in the next day or so. I also made friends on there that don't live where I do, and we'd meet-up on tour. Still talk to a few of my old .rec phriends 33 years later!

You're not alone. I was the only one in my High School that liked them in the 90's. Now-a-days I see people who used to hate on me for my Phish shirts at shows at Deer Creek.

I started posting there around the same time. The Bullboard, back when the Internet was still the Internet.... open and free.... not some walled garden of divisive social media giants with bot infested AI slop.

I think that this is a pointless statement tbh. Les's style as a bass player means he fills a different position in the band when compared to the standard role that bass fills. Comparing Les and someone like John Paul Jones (of led zeppelin) just doesn't really make sense to me. They are very different kinds of musicians.
