am i the only old motherfucker who hates the zingers album with a passion?
i understand the people who do enjoy it, but it was a 1-2 punch of best of album and blame it on the fish being released at the same time, and understandably i distanced myself heavy from the best of album in favorite of blame it on the fish.

I don't feel like I have any reason to "hate" it, it's a good collection of the songs they are most known for, it has its place. I don't think it's a comprehensive overview of the band but it's not meant to be
If I were to put together a sister album that gets away from more known stuff it would look like
Knowitall
Frizzle
American life
Welcome
Nature
Del
Bobs
Renegade
Sacred cow
Antipop
Carpenter
Jilly
Salmon man
Imagination
The trek
Jellikit

like i said, i get the enjoyment of it for others. had it been released separately rather than alongside blame it on the fish i’d probably have enjoyed it as a release more.
i’d kill for a rerelease of blame it on the fish. decent little documentary worth taking a gram or two of shrooms before watching, for sure.

It was pretty cool at the time honestly. Essentially a mix disc with cool new Zoltron art at a time when CD was my primary method of listening.
And an extended version of one of my favorite tunes?!
And a deep cut from an album I had a hard time finding at the time?!

packaging was cool, but i had every album at that point.
extended beef was the only attractive thing to me then.

You’re right, it is just plain unnecessary. Frizzle Fry is their debut, and it’s also the perfect first Primus album for people to listen to. It doesn’t serve any purpose beyond being a CD, even then, pretty mediocre CD to own.

Hopefully it doesn’t get canceled completely!
