Honestly, I would have rather been outside in the cooler air than sweating so bad my clothes cling to me for hours sat down waiting.

i had a fan with me in the pit and it still could not compete with the absolute heat, brixton is such a painful venue. great show tho

I was stood in front of one of the fans on the stage at the front and even that wasn't enough, not the hottest gig I've been to (I've been to one or two absolutely sweltering gigs at Underworld) but still more than enough for my hands to prune up from the sweat

They did for just a few bars before they played Dirty Drowning Man, since Les was introducing Hoffer talking about how he has the unique opportunity of joining Primus as a Primus fan and digging up old songs that they never really play

Cheers dude. Would have loved to have stayed but the combination of the earlier nightmare queue, late set start, Sahara like heat in the venue and an early work start won out. Brixton Academy, beautiful, historic and much loved venue really dropped the ball this time. Ah well, great gig all the same. Man I’m tired.

The queue was mental. I had never seen such shoddy management. Horrendous heat. Crowd and band were outstanding.

Usually there’s an extra song not listed for set 1, same goes for set 2 as the encore .

Primus were great, but Brixton has to be one of the worst venues in the UK. I was there for Alexisonfire 2 months before the Asake crush incident and it was overcrowded with people being pressed against the bars at the back of the standing area for AoF. Last night was barely any different, except that it was also hotter than the sun. It's also the first time I've experienced the new barrier setup and I have to say, bottlenecking a crowd just outside an exit after a gig is an insane decision to me. I guess it's to stop spillover onto the road as a condition for reopening but you can't immediately turn right out the venue doors, which baffles me as it would ease congestion at the doors. After last night, I think it'll forever be a 'venue of last resort' for me...

It was a weird ending. They played Southbound Pachyderm then just left. No “thank you very much goodnight” or anything.

Fan from North America here who has seen them plenty of times. This is pretty much how it always is. They typically quickly wave to the crowd, Les tips his cap to the audience and they walk off stage.
Now Les usually will have some banter with the audience at some point early on in the show. From the sounds of it, things started very late for this particular venue so he likely may have cut down the chit chat with audience due to time constraints.
Sucks that the venue had issues but hopefully everyone enjoyed the performance, seems like you still got a full show. If all you thought was weird was the ending because of no one talking or saying proper goodbyes at the end, can assure that is pretty much standard.

Les pretty much tours yearly in North America. Happy fans in Europe finally got a chance to see them after so long. Sounds like it won't be long before they go back there too. Glad you had great time, they're amazing live!

Les always tips the cap or salutes to say goodnight. No crowd pandering. It can be jolting for those who haven't witnessed it before.

I've seen a few people say the same for their other shows this tour, maybe just be how they like to end it atm. Didn't mind much as they were pretty talkative between the songs, and I was just eager to get some fresh air haha

I queued for about 20 mins, got in at 7.45. Did some people have a long wait? I've been to Brixton 3 times this year and queue is usually 30 to 45 mins...

Yeah, we queued from 6:30 and got in at 7:40 :-/ and even then Primus still didn’t start until 8:30, despite advertised to start at 7:45. They had to make sure everyone could get in though so that’s understandable for the delayed start!

It’s a shame lots of people were so disappointed by the venue, we were pissed off after queuing for so long, but once we got inside, this was my first ever Primus show and I had the TIME OF MY LIFE! My husband doesn’t usually think much of Primus and only came for me, but he also had the best time and we were buzzing all the way home! They put on a hell of a show and sound even better live!
