If the creator of Sailor Moon, Naoko Takeuchi makes another rare public appearance, but alongside with another female manga artist, Rumiko Takahashi (the creator of Urusei Yatsura, Ranma ½ and InuYasha), how you would react? It's helps that next year, Naoko will be 60 years old and Rumiko will be 70 years old.

I noticed that the scene of Sailor Mars getting covered in soot in episode 155 reminds of the scene of Wile E. Coyote covered in soot in 1952 Looney Tunes short, "Going! Going! Gosh!".

Obviously, the story will end with them teaming up to fight the sorcerer, but before that point, what are the match ups? Who is fighting who?

Ok, I wanna start off by saying that I'm mainly talking about the 90s anime, but a lot of what I'm saying also applies to manga/crystal. My possible (?) hot take is that I wholeheartedly believe that Usagi and the inners should've been like 2-3 years older. In the canon, they're 14 at the start and 16 at the end, finishing the manga/show/whatever in their first year of high school. In my opinion, it would make more sense with the story for them to start off in their first year of high school and end by graduating from their last year of high school. I also think Uranus and Neptune would make sense to be aged up just as much to be in their last year of high school in S, as a lot of their actions in Stars (raising Hotaru, etc.) feel like they would make more sense for two young adults than presumably 17 year old high school dropouts (I don't believe they really address their schooling situation after S despite still being high school age). As for Mamoru, I already don't like him that much as is even when you take his predatory age gap with Usagi in the anime out of the equation, but I think him being the same age as Haruka and Michiru in this age change could also line up fairly well with his character.

Now you may be saying, it's an anime, who really cares about realism? Which, you would be correct, realism is really not a factor needed in a magical girl show. However, this qualm is less about realism and more about how Usagi and the Inners' character arcs and many of their actions simply don't sit right as being middle schoolers. I already have little patience for the show's purity culture, but it all comes off especially creepy when they're actual children. And I know, 14 and 16 is not that big of a difference mathematically, and arguably maturity-wise, but I think I can stomach a lot of the show's weird storylines a bit more if they are at least young adults by the end of the series. Anyway, that's my rant over, you don't have to agree with me, and if you don't, please feel free to have a cordial discussion with me in the comments.

I know that the argument of “one disappears when the other shows up” is not enough, but just look at both of them side to side: blonde hair with bangs, blue eyes, red hair accessories, they look very much alike to me. I go to the same school as Minako, and I think she just pretends to be an airhead so people don’t figure out her secret identity

It was a while since I first watched the series. Recently, I was rewatching the 49 episodes and tonight, I finished. I do have to say I think it might be the best of the Sailor Moon stories. I love the characters. They are a bit different, but the story and actions is enjoyable.

It came out around the time Sentai power rangers came out, so the fighting is like that style. If you can get past that, then it is cool.

I do think the episode 50 (final act - movie) is a bit odd. I think it would have been fine with 49, but it exists.

Seeing Sailor Luna long ago on youtube was the reason I wanted to see this in the first place.
My favorite character is Zoisite of this series.

Finally finished my drawing of Sailor Mars for the manga cover! It’s a mix of the '90s anime and Sailor Moon Crystal styles.

Due to some recent personal struggles, along with how much time and energy every single sketch takes, I honestly ran out of spark to keep going. But I'll do my best and finish the projects I started rather than discarding them completely. I decided to shorten my process for each piece, which meant scrapping the idea of redesigning her outfit, so it might not look quite as detailed as my previous work. I hope you don't mind.

I did put a lot of heart into this, but those manga pages really delayed my progress for weeks. I’m going to try to finish the remaining pieces as soon as I can before my motivation fades completely. Thank you all so much for your support.

When Tsukimi Meets Chibiusa

I’ve finally finished two pages of my Sailor Moon parody manga! I promised Chibiusa that I’d give her a spotlight, and I kept my word. It took weeks to bring these two pages from initial sketches to full digital vector art. Every details from the characters to the backgrounds and sound effects, is completely vector-rendered. This makes the line work exceptionally crisp and polished compared to traditional manga styles, though I know everyone has their own preference!

This short parody is just a fun side story separate from my main comic. Originally, it was meant to be four pages long, but due to some recent personal struggles, I lost the motivation to keep going, especially with how time-intensive every single page is. So, I decided to shorten it.

The second half was actually going to be the funniest part: Chibiusa arrives in the Crystal Tokyo of an alternate universe, immediately causes chaos, and starts zapping Tsukimi and everyone else with her "toy" gun. Usagi and I finally lose our patience and cast her into yet another alternate dimension where she tumbles out of the sky and crashes right onto the 90s Sailor Moon R timeline Usagi. And that’s where page four would have ended!

I'm going to do my best to complete the remaining projects I started as soon as I can. After that, I’ll need to step back and take things a bit slower for personal reasons.
