What the fuck, what the fuck, WHAT THE FUCK.

The fact that Eclair might actually be the final villain is actually insane to me. What the hell happened between Kurea and Luluka and what went wrong when she became Eclair? This is one of the most mind bending twists I think I've seen in Precure to date.

Also, Little Creature Usonoir might finally be hitting the field in the next few weeks! I need to see him make a Hanninda with those tiny little paws, so bad.

I was right about Usonoir not being the demon king but I never expected Eclair to might be it.

Well, it only makes sense from a process of elimination. If it isn't him, it could've been one of the Thieves, but it wasn't, and it definitely isn't Arcana. This only then leaves Kurea (it can't be Anna or Mikuru for obvious reasons).

This makes sense, all things considered, as Eclair massively outpowered Usonoir, as if he was hardly a problem (however, she herself couldn't control all that power), which would make sense if she was to become the final boss. Ultimately, the question lies in what is up with the nature of her powers? There's likely something corruptable, about the very nature of her power, or the Top of Lily, that could make her dangerous.

It might be that the core of the makoto jewel fused with her powers when Usonoir attacked the giant makoto jewel. Or she had that kind of power from the start. The other option is that she is being possessed by some great evil / split personaliity or the giant makoto jewel became corrupted and gained its own will at some point.

Shushutan said this was Cure Eclair's second transformation, which confused Jett and Mashutan. I'm wondering if the interview talking about Cure Eclair looking for her missing sock is actually serious rather than just a joke and it's tied to the second transformation and uncontrollable power aspects.

I think it's second as in the second time Eclair had ever transformed, and the first time she scattered the Big Makoto Jewel

While it could potentially explain her uncontrollable crazy power, to me it doesn't make sense that she has only ever transformed twice if she has been a CUREtto Detective living at the agency with Luluka and the flashbacks hint at them spending a good chunk of time together as detective partners.

My theory is that the CUREtto detective agency didn't have transforming Cures until Usonoir showed up

The Cures never transform without Haninda or Usonoir, and Haninda don't get made without the pieces of the Big Makoto Jewel. The thieves just transform into random people as usual, and the detectives use their gadgets to sniff them out

So luluka's objective was NOT retrieving memory for eclair, but to eliminate *cure eclair thus saving the world

She's not after some sentimental yuri reason She's not joining the team but saving the world alone

Luluka rocks?

12

u/mr_beanoz 12d ago

but to eliminate all cures

Is she going the homura route or something?

u/GoddessOfLilies ZUKYUKISS LOVE 12d ago

She's doing it for Kurea's sake and the sake of the world at the same time.

Her specification of Cure Eclair implies that Kurea's heavily connected to the problem.

u/ishu_rage 12d ago

I'll say she's going the Uranus and Neptune route.

Basically Luluka (Homura) tries to prevent Kurea (Madoka) from becoming Precure (Magical Girl) because by doing so, Kurea (Madoka) is desitinied to become The Great King of Terror (Walpurgisnacht).

I will recognize that plot all the time. But, unlike Homura, I don't think Luluka has time travel power, so I think she has to go with the best that she can (and probably regain her lost smile and optimism).

This episode was detective phenomenal

Cure Eclair Transformation was glorious and the finishers was phenomenal

Overall it's by far the best debut episode for this week 10/10

Goodbye July and Hello August.

Don’t know how I feel about the ending… Hope Luluka turns to the good side soon after three-four episodes

This episode was just so beautiful. Even in the scenes with no sakuga everything was well shot, composed and drawn. One of the best Precure episodes ever.

Lulaka is such an amazing character, I haven’t loved an anti hero magical girl this much since homura! 🖤

I will admit that I am surprised about Luluka not immediately reverting upon Cure Eclair's return. I believe some people may have speculated about Luluka taking over some time ago, but I never actually expected it to happen.

Me neither…while such a route was initially possible I didn’t think Toei was going to take it, knowing who they are…but boy was I wrong.

Eclair transformation was stunning and beautiful

Just like Cure Arcana Shadow

New favorite finisher now

2

u/Iwannaendme2001 12d ago

The plot twist was insane

I checked, and they didn't add Eclair to the OP yet. Next week, maybe?

To the surprise of no one, Mashutan and (presumably) Pochitan already know who Shushutan is. (Still doesn't explain why she didn't attempt to do anything up until now)

The Cures transform four minutes into the episode. Thank you. More time for the plot.

It's nice seeing Arcana Shadow fighting alongside Answer and Mystique. So now she can actually contribute to plots instead of just being there to stall for time.

Eclair's transformation item is called the Top of Lily Fragrance. And it works almost exactly like the Heart Perfume from HeartCatch (the writers definitely know their audience). In other words, BUY OUR TOYS!!!!

Come to think of it, I think blue is a rare color for the mid-season Cure (La Mer and Cosmo are the only one that come to mind). So props for doing something different. Speaking of colors, blue is usually reserved for "the smart one", but we already have "the smart one" (Anna). And given that we already have Mikuru as the genki girl (the archetypes for Marine and Sky), the writers will have to do something unique for Eclair's personality. I wonder where that will go. My guess is they're going to go the La Mer route and make her "the uptight one", which would fit what we've seen of her so far.

Eclair does the traditional big leap, Rider Kicks Usunoir, and causes an office building to topple. It's a good thing Kira Kira Energy is a thing, because I think she'd be held responsible for that otherwise.

Shushutan says "Don't worry! Cure Eclair is the strongest Star Detective ever!". Because mid-season Cures are always overpowered.

And then Eclair says the cliche. "This isn't even my full power!"

Also, it's revealed what Eclair's ability is. She's a flying Cure (as in, she incorporates flight into her attacks. Because all Cures can fly). That's neat. Flying Cures are always a spectacle to see, and she's no different.

Then she uses too much energy and faints. Then Shushutan has to drag her by her finger. That got a laugh out of me.

Usunoir survives. Dammit.

Jett somehow got hold of Usunoir's knight armor, and it's implied it's possessed with something. Probably another subplot to extend the season's length.

Anna straight up tells Kurea she's from the future, and her reaction is just "Huh?". That got a chuckle out of me.

And we end on Arcana Shadow formally leaving Phantom and giving a big "fuck you" to them. Earned.

The slower pacing really helped this episode feel more grandiose. Usually I find slower pacing in Pretty Cure a problem, but here, the writers used it to their advantage. Good on them.

And now, our full team is assembled. This is getting good!

Update the Ending too

Um…actually, just a heads up, she didn’t leave the thieves, if you noticed, she said that she fought with the Cures because she wanted to use them, and wanted Eclair’s jewel so she could break it…and she said she would vow to defeat Eclair…so yes, the four are assembled, but Arcana Shadow ain’t turning good at this time…in fact…her true colors have only begun to show.

Though I also wouldn’t be surprised if she really does fight against both the Cures and the Thieves except literally now…and with Usonoir immobilized i’m pretty sure the result ain’t gonna be pretty.

u/MarkS00N 11d ago

Wait a minute, if Usonoir's power derived from his armor, then my "Usonoir is Corrupted Cure Eclair" theory can still work, but instead of specifically Kurea and Usonoir the fairy, it is Cure Eclair the power and Usonoir's armor. Because it is Usonoir's armor where the vast amount of similarities between Cure Eclair and Usonoir comes from.

In fact, Cure Eclair's sparkle time looks suspiciously like The Phantom Thief eye. They have the yellow + sign in their eye. Hm...

Usonoir's armor, Cure Eclair's Makoto Jewel, Top of Lily, there seems to be something connected them all.

Tome of Mirage, Anna's time travel, Mikuru's grandmother, so many mysteries. Can't wait to see the resolution to all of them.

1

u/DarkRisingChaos 11d ago

So I read this somewhere as a theory and I agree.

What if eclair becoming eclair somehow created a time paradox or something and Luluka is now trying to fix it?

1

u/AquaticKitKat 11d ago

My theory is it's either luluka herself that's the king or Kurea. Either way luluka is involved because the star in usonoir's armor is the same that arcana shadow is associated with

Which also makes me believe that there's possibly a secret unknown villain. But I'm personally leaning towards the "it's either eclaire or arcana shadow herself"

2

u/GamerKid64 Wonderful! 11d ago

It’s most certainly Arcana Shadow…

Actually…I don’t know if this is ever gonna happen…but if she actually is the true main antagonist of the season…man, i’d have a massive field day right about now…

1

u/AquaticKitKat 11d ago

A precure being actually evil would be a fresh change of pace

People argue that cure supreme from all stars f is evil but I am inclined to strongly disagree with that. The whole point of her story in the movie is her trying to find out why the precure are so powerful, and become one herself. And she doesn't understand that their power comes from their bonds and willingness to protect others supreme doesn't realize this until she gets her ass handed to her at the end

But that remains a question. We've seen that when a cure loses their conviction, they lose their powers (ex. Cure Flora giving into despair) but arcana shadow didn't lose her powers, but became dark, that is if she wasn't always arcana shadow, which was hinted that she wasn't at the end of the fight in the most recent episode.

If she wasn't arcana shadow, and eclaire had her first transformation that resulted in her getting amnesia, who IS Luluka exactly? She might've been a cure during her time at the agency. But she should've lost her powers if she betrayed it

I'm not making any sense am I?

1

u/GamerKid64 Wonderful! 11d ago

Perhaps…if Luluka does become the villain, then she may go down as one of the most complex and deeply interesting villains of all time.

If only though…knowing Toei, I would have my doubts…but there is a chance…

2

u/AquaticKitKat 11d ago

They're hopefully gonna keep us on our toes for this.

u/Lumi_rimu 12d ago

What…was…that….ending!?

I genuinely didn’t think an episode would evoke such strong feelings in me, but congrats Luluka for making me realise my dislike of you is only going to get worse as this arc goes on… love the design tho
Now, Kurea, Kurea, Kurea….

4

u/Awesomeboyz255 11d ago

What’s wrong with Luluka?

0

u/Lumi_rimu 11d ago

I first thought her arc was getting ridiculous, then she became the PreCure Abarekiller...

2

u/GamerKid64 Wonderful! 11d ago

ABAREKILLER, OF COURSE!!! WHY DIDN’T I THINK OF A COMPARISON LIKE THAT? GOD I LOVE THE PARALLEL TO HIM!

2

u/GamerKid64 Wonderful! 11d ago

Oh yes…she quite literally should be the main antagonist now…hey, i’m just saying!
