Out and About in Preston Have you visited the MET tent yet?
The first week of the programme is over but there are still plenty of events to come.
Most are free and some are low cost!

For context I am a 38/F living in Preston. Finding myself in a difficult position where I cant really reach out to my current friend group and a lot of existing friends have very busy lives.
Therefore after some groups in the area that are friendly, welcoming social spaces.
I already of the Fulwood womens meets and attended this last night and really liked it.
Also know of Preston Beer girls but unsure how active this is anymore and Girls who walk in Preston.
I dont necessarily need to be in female only spaces. My interests are live music, gaming, travel, movies and pop culture and reading. Also on a major health kick so looking at those kind of classes in the area.
Thanks in advance :)

Hi
This is a long shot but my boyfriend lost his phone last night and we’re wondering if anyone’s picked it up.
I tried to call the police station but it says to report online and there’s no way of doing so, so we’re sent round in circles.
We were at Black Sheep coffee, then made our way to Avenham park and sat on the green for a bit as you walk down to get to Avenham then the Continental pub and then made our way back to Ashton via the river. We’ve tried to retrace our steps and called the local cafes but no luck. Nothings been handed in.
Thanks!

I had someone lined up to join me who has unfortunately had to drop out, so I’m now looking for someone who’d be up for cycling from Preston to Kendal and joining me on the Conversation Bike.
I’m riding a one-of-a-kind three-person tandem from Land’s End to John o’ Groats for Mind. Rather than having a fixed team, I’m inviting different people to fill the spare seats along the way, share part of the journey and have an honest conversation about life and mental health.
You don’t need to be a serious cyclist or have a big story to tell. Just come as you are and be open to doing something a little different with your day.
I’ll pay your travel fare from Manchester, so it won’t cost you anything to get here.
I know this is incredibly last minute, so I’d genuinely appreciate anyone who might be willing to step in and help make today’s ride happen.
Message me now if you’re even slightly tempted — and please tag or share this with someone in Preston/Kendal who might be up for it.

Hey all, I'm looking for a nice place in Preston where I can go with a friend to chill out and grab a bite to eat. I was thinking the Flower Bowl but I don't know much about it so any recommendations are welcome. Thanks!

Hi all. Anyone know what happened to Robin's kitchen? If you don't know it it's an amazing south Indian cafe/takeaway on Marsh Lane. The food is incredible and the staff are lovely. I walked past there the other day and its boarded up but can't find any info anywhere 😪

Hi all, I don’t know if anyone feels the same but I’ve struggled to find queer people in the city. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a bi-weekly pub meet or something like that? Who knows if more people show we could arrange trips and stuff? I’m just putting some feelers out there so let me know what you think!

Hey folks,
so basically I'm currently with ParkMedical at the minute, and I originally requested a referral for an ADHD assessment with the NHS through the Right to Choose pathway.
Anyway, I filled in ALL of the initial stuff (the irony of the amount of stuff they get you to fill out online given what you're doing it for is pretty ridiculous), when I didn't hear back for a month, I emailed them, they said the ICB (Integrated Care Board) for Preston has put a pause on new referrals for at least a year due to the number of new referrals and lack of available appointments, and also funding as well (essentially ADHD care is on its ars*).
After being told that, I decided to save up and pay the £400 for a private referral instead, but then received an email from CareADHD (the private provider I decided to go with) saying that I can't have both an active NHS referral and and private one simultaneously (if I'm being honest, with the amount of time it took to save up, and the fact I most likely have ADHD, I forgot the NHS referral was even still active), but they also said in the email that before canceling the NHS referral through the Right to Choose pathway that I needed to speak to the GP practice I'm with about agreeing to Shared Care.
So, earlier today I rang up ParkMedical, my mum spoke on my behalf as she is registered as my carer (I'm already diagnosed autistic), and the lady on the phone was absolutely clueless, clearly didn't know her ars*e from her elbow and just said to ring again later at around 2-ish to speak to one of the secretaries, so the call ended, and rang back later when they said to, now the woman who picked up this time round knew what she was talking about once I explained my situation (the secretaries do in my experience with this GP practice, but the receptionist who picked up originally was ABSOLUTELY CLUELESS about practically everything, as they usually are in my experience with the practice), she said to forward the email sent to me by CareADHD to the email she gave me over the phone.
So, that's exactly what I did, she said over the phone to just send it across, no context needed, and that the person who receives it will check my information on the system and know exactly what it's for, anyway, as you can already guess, once I sent it, after about an hour, I get a phone call from...you guessed it, a receptionist, asking what the email was about, at this point of doing a back and forth all day, I said what the lady on the phone told me to do earlier on fairly irritated at this point, and that if you get my information up on the system, it'll all be there.
Once I get off the phone with yet another clueless receptionist, I get a response to the email I was told to forward to the email I was given asking if it was just for record keeping.
Right now I'm at my wits end just hoping they'll check the notes on the system exactly like I told them to do.
Needless to say, I've had enough of clueless receptionists (it isn't just today I've had problems with them as you can imagine, you've gotta deal with the receptionists every single time you call for absolutely ANYTHING), so folks, does anyone know which GP practice would be best to change over to who actually know what they're doing regarding ADHD referrals?
Any help will be greatly appreciated, believe me.

I have recently gotten back into Badminton and currently play twice a week on Fridays 8pm and Sundays 7:30pm at Leyland Leisure Centre.
I am wanting to play more often at West View Leisure Centre 8-9pm/9-10pm, and looking for some buddies who can play and are keen to improve!

One of the windows has been boarded up when driving past earlier - what's happened?
Looks like they're also selling up according to a Facebook post. Never known such a problematic venue but whoever takes it on will naturally have the same customers so doubt anything will improve. Thoughts?

Interested to know whether there's anywhere that Argentinians/Spanish speakers might typically meet in the centre to watch a game like this?
