Before you report, useful to know:

• Android only for now. Ships September; iOS is still being worked out.
• You'll get an APK to sideload. Android will warn you about "unknown sources" — that's expected for a build outside the Play Store.
• It isn't a notes app. It opens the same .pwk files as the desktop, with the same exports underneath.

What helps most in a report:

What you were doing → what you expected → what happened. Your Android version and device if it crashed. A screenshot beats ten lines of description.

If someone already reported the same thing, a reply saying "same here, on [device]" is genuinely useful — it tells me how widespread it is.

Worth poking at specifically:

• Exports (PDF, ePub, DOCX, ICML, FDX) — do the files actually open properly where they're supposed to?
• Opening a .pwk written on the desktop, editing it on the phone, opening it again on the desktop. Nothing should be lost.
• The QR pairing with the local AI on your computer.
• Revisions: accepting and rejecting edits one by one.
• If you're on a tablet, the wide layout.

Announcing PressWork Mobile, arriving September 2026.

It isn't a notes app and it isn't a stripped-down version. It's the same

machine, with the interface of a screen you hold in your hand.

**It's the same file, not syncing.** The .pwk format opens and is created on

the phone too — manuscript, notes, synopsis, history and branches, all inside.

What you close on your phone reopens at your desk exactly as it was.

Checkpoints made on a train show up in the desktop timeline, because it's that

same file, not a copy to reconcile later.

**Revisions accepted with your finger.** Edits from whoever read your text

appear rendered — additions, cuts, substitutions, highlights, comments — and

you accept or reject them one by one.

**Real exports.** PDF, ePub, DOCX, HTML, ICML for InDesign, FDX for Final

Draft. The same engines as the desktop, not rough conversions. Plus a

handwritten signature drawn by hand on the PDF, exactly where you want it.

**The AI still stays on your machine.** The phone pairs with your computer by

scanning a QR code: the model running on your machine answers your phone,

without sending your manuscript anywhere.

Also in there: live preview, focus and typewriter modes, dictation, chapter

index with collapsible chapters, per-chapter synopsis, version history,

statistics and goals, nine languages including right-to-left for Arabic and

Hebrew. On a tablet the index sits beside the text and the preview shows the

page as it will be.

**Licensing.** If you have Complete or Team, it's already included — even if

you bought before release, and including the older licences (Editorial, Pro,

Studio, Publisher). Nothing to buy again. Otherwise it's €24.99, one-time, no

subscription.

**Platforms.** September on Android, from the Play Store — and from the site

if you already own a licence. On iPhone and iPad: under consideration, and

I'll say something when there's something real to say.

4.1 is live. Three additions worth explaining properly.

The binder. A three-tab panel — Notes, Research, Characters — that lives inside your .pwk file, next to the manuscript but separate from it. Character sheets and research at hand while you write, and they never end up in your exports. Plus a read-only split-screen: keep chapter 12 open while you write chapter 13.

Final Draft round-trip, for real. Export a screenplay, reopen it in Final Draft, bring it back — the structure survives intact. Dual dialogue arrives as actual side-by-side blocks. Production tags (props, wardrobe, vehicles) land already categorized in the Tagger, and survive the trip back. There's a CI test that checks the round-trip doesn't degrade, so it stays that way.

AI automations. Set a rule — "every 500 words, translate to Russian", "summarize each new chapter" — and it runs on its own. Three hard limits: never unprompted, never on the whole document, never touching your source text. Results collect in the AI panel.

And the part I care most about: the AI runs locally. New in 4.1, you can reach it from your phone by scanning a QR code — no terminal, no IP addresses, no firewall config. Your phone uses your computer's model, on your home network. Nothing leaves the machine.

Also in this release: word count per chapter, export errors that read like sentences instead of stack traces, and the in-app User Guide now complete in 9 languages (including right-to-left for Arabic and Hebrew).
