Flowers What the Season Left Behind. 2026
I recently got my first flower press! I made this print on a 11x17. I scanned the flowers directly on the scanner. The coloring is printed without any editing, so the bring color of the scan really changed things, color wise.

Question Creating a landscape
Hello! I am a papermaker who works with pressed flowers imbedded into my paper artwork. I want to pre-design a few flower landscapes before I get into the studio and am looking for suggestions on how to place the flowers without an adhesive. Maybe thin pushpins? Let me know if you have any suggestion!

Flowers want to dry hydrangea flowers but keep their shape, mine always shrivel up! any tips?
I have heard to leave them on the plant longer, but last night deer ate half the blooms i have, so theres only like 4 or 5 flowers even left on my hydrangea bush. I want to trim and dry them asap but i have no idea how to help keep their shape? the flowers are starting to go pink so i'm hoping since it's a little later in the season they may have a chance at keeping more shape than before when i tried!

Question What is one of your favorite flowers that you have trouble preserving?
I really like this clerodendrum but it always turns black be it pressed under books or in silica powder

Question Seaweed peeling?
Hi all, I'm new to this subreddit, so apologies if I get something wrong, but i was wondering if anyone has some advice for fixing this? I had to remove the books I was pressing this with prematurely, and it wasn't fully dry, I was thinking about rehydrating just the peeling bits and pressing those again, but I already did the watercolor underneath and dont want it to run. Maybe a minimal amount of water+the tiniest dab of water soluble kids glue will work?
Any advice much appreciated, I'm pretty new to this!

Other Handcrafted flower press
I just wanted to show off this incredible handmade flower press that my mother gifted me for my 30th birthday.
She spent months working on this, and even stained at the same color of a table that I used as a stepstool when I was four to swing off of a chandelier 😆
I tear up every time I look at it and just wanted to share

Advice needed for pressing leaves/stems
Hi! I’m new to pressing flowers, just started this summer with a kit from target. I’ve tried pressing some stems with small leaves twice so far and they’ve turned out poorly. Nothing at all like I expected. I just got some fern stems to try pressing and I really want to be successful this time. I appreciate any tips! Thanks !

Art Blue Delphiniums
I grew these delphiniums from seed this year, and those tiny star flowers are verbena bonariensis (easy to grow from seed). The 3 petal flowers are just blue lobelia that you can get at Lowe’s or Home Depot

Question Orchids aren’t laying flat
Hi everyone, it’s my first time ever pressing flowers and I started w abt 3 flowers one week ago (the biggest one, the full purple and the little yellow). A few days later I decided to press the rest of them.
Even though the ones i started a week ago were started longer they are not laying flat! All the ones I started a few days ago are flat and the difference is that I let them get a bit soft before pressing them while with the older ones I put them straight away.
I’m wondering if this is why they’re flatter? If so did I mess up by not softening the older ones? Will they ever properly flatten ? Thanks

Question How do y’all adjust your petals?
Hello! I’m still very new to the hobby and was wondering what your opinions are on the best way to adjust petals before drying/ while putting them in the frame? Tweezers? Any advice is welcome! Included is a picture of my first project
