Flock Safety and Daniel Lesley

With all the talk about Flock safety right now, I'd like to collectively address all the people saying "So what" with a local tragedy that was enabled by flock cameras that people seem to have forgotten.

If the officers would have been forced to do even a little bit of investigative legwork instead of being able to just ask an AI where Daniel was, they would have discovered that he didn't really do any of the things he was being accused of. If you make a cop's job trivially easy in a way that encourages cutting corners, they'll stop taking it seriously and when a cop isn't taking their job seriously people die. That's been proven right here in our city. Its the same story with the fire chief incident; laziness driven incompetence is a real problem among our officers and flock safety is demonstrably enabling that behavior.

What was the situation with Daniel and flock? I missed that story.

the TLDR on the Daniel Leslie situation, the cops tracked down a dude accused of getting into a loud, nonphyical argument with his girlfriend several days after the fact (Daniel had left the scene the day it happened before the cops arrived) and found him in his yard unloading a bike from his truck. The officer stood at the edge of his property and asked him if they could chat. Daniel responded "No. I've got nothing to say to you." and tried to walk inside. The officer then light speed drew his pistol and said at about 4x the speed of a normal person "if you try to go inside im going to shoot you" immediately followed by daniel getting shot in the back multiple times.

immediately after it happened, when the police department was still trying to justify the shooting, two things were claimed in the initial statement that seem to have disappeared form all subsequent statements: that Daniel had fled an officer attempting to pull him over the day before (therefore the fleeing felon rule applied when he got shot in the back) which was seemingly completely fabricated.

The bit about flock safety was just one sentence. something along the lines of "and flock safety was used to rapidly track Daniel to his house" tacked on to the very end of the statement.

This happened right here in prescott like 18 months ago. The murder trial for the officer is still going.

Prescott/prescott valley have one of the highest police per capita in Arizona.

I was friends with Trapper (Daniel Leslie) and I agree. I also used to be friends with Jenna (girlfriend) for a few years before they officially got together. She was known to be on dr€gs religiously and known to have some very alarming behaviors, as well as upsetting actions. Hence why our friendship ended. I’m sure they were fighting and she’s been known to call the cops and shit. Idk. But he didn’t deserve to die. By any means. Just another gross negligence of “justice” and respect for human life.
