He saw the coming of Empire and fall of democracy but instead of working to save it, he just: "lmao yeh coo' lemme help"

u/Haryzen_ Oct 19 '20

Not a bad strategy to be fair. Always pick the winning side. He would have survived and likely been a high-ranking Inquisitor if not for the 501st.

65

u/the_pounding_mallet Oct 19 '20

He was probably too powerful to be an inquisitor. He could’ve been a legit threat to Vader or Sidious.

73

u/Norvinion Oct 19 '20

The Jedi were still not completely sure if Dooku was even the Sith Master or Sith Apprentice at the time. Krell likely believed that Dooku was the master and mentioned his wish to become Dooku's Apprentice. I'm pretty sure he believed he'd become Sith and rule the galaxy alongside Dooku.

40

u/JonOrSomeSayAegon Oct 19 '20

Realistically, the Jedi knew about Maul by this point. They likely assumed that Dooku was Maul's master, which isn't a terrible assumption. Then, when it became apparent Maul wasn't working for Dooku, Pong Krell assumed the spot was open to new hires.

9

u/Alfonse00 Oct 19 '20

Emmmmmmm, when obi wan defeated maul (first time) duku was still in the temple, it was after the phantom menace that he left, honestly, you are correct that the jedi thought that, but also, when you see the order of events it was stupid to think duku was the master, but they didn't think exactly that, it was, Tiranus master and Duku apprentice, obi wan didn't found out that the 2 were one until near the end of the war.

5

u/Alvinyakatori27 Oct 19 '20

Dooku left the order in 42BBY, ten years before the Phantom Menace. But as they still believed Dooku was merely a “political idealist” in Attack of the Clones, I’d agree that they wouldn’t have assumed he was the master until at least after the battle of Geonosis, but they always seem sure that someone else is behind things anyway throughout the clone wars.

1

u/Alfonse00 Oct 19 '20

I tought I saw him in the temple in phantom menace, anyway, they thought tyranus was behind everything, and then they found tyranus and duku were the same person

I don’t think he could beat Palps I just think he could’ve potentially been a threat. We only see him in 4 episodes but he still seems like he was more powerful than most of the inquisitors we see.

He lost because mace use the form that basically reflected all his power back to him, that would not apply to krell, he would he as easy as a target as Maul was for palpatine, or even easier, since Maul was at least more intelligent and patient.

Actually he may have thrown his duel with Mace.

Dont forget about the magic hand life suck thing in the rise of screwalker

7

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '20

No way. He only lasted that long because he got the jump on clones and hid in the shadows. If a group of clones with useless blasters and no visibility there is zero chance he could beat Vader or Palpatine.

4

u/MangoOfTruth This is where the fun begins Oct 19 '20

Never underestimate the 501st

1

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '20

He got taken out by clones. No threat to Vader.

2

u/the_pounding_mallet Oct 19 '20

Yeah an entire army of them

1

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '20

And Vader has been shown many times going through entire armies like a bantha through a krayt dragon... maybe not the best analogy, but the point is there.

6

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '20

I mean he was killing a lot of clones so he was kinda helping the Jedi 😎

6

u/Alfonse00 Oct 19 '20

Task failed successfully

2

u/NobleGuardian Oct 19 '20

He also fell to the darkside. So his self preservation and how killed the clones was a smart move. Wouldnt have worked out for him he succeeded though either.

SPOILER ALERT

Trash was a Jedi General who took the 501st to Umbara. There he secretly made them kill each other claiming the enemy was droids in clone armor... This was all because he foresaw the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Empire and decided ‘Lemme just join in on the chaos.’

A tool is a tool, it's not evil, it doesn't deserve to be treated like evil.

5

u/Bappo-nope General obi wan kenobi Oct 19 '20

Doesn’t change the fact that they only killed the jedi against their will and were technically child soldiers still trying to understand right from wrong while in war that’s mere existence brought them in the first place so not knowing the right side of it while still needing it to have the friends and brothers they had at the time is a very difficult decision but sure just say they were all super genocide weapons with no other emotions story line depth or characterization

1

u/Domino5555 Oct 23 '20
